We had a good final seven-minute push in the second half, but that was about it. We dominated the first half, but we just couldn't put it in the back of the net.

In the first half, we came out flat and we left two balls sitting around too long. We dominated the second half, but we just couldn't put one in. We just couldn't get that one goal to break the ice.

Shots just didn't fall in the second half. I'll credit Jackson Center's defense for causing that. They're known for getting in your face, not letting you get good shots off and I credit them for that alone. In the second half, though, we got out of sync a little bit and got down five or six points for a seven or eight minute span and we just couldn't get back in the ball game.

They got a couple of buckets late. But we also had some really good looks at the basket down the stretch, and we just couldn't get any to go down. We were down by 16 in the first half and came back, and we played really well in the second half to get back in it. We just couldn't make the shots at the end.

We got back to defending. We held them to 40 percent from the floor [9-for-23 in the second half], we only had two turnovers in the second half [after eight in the first half] and we dominated the glass. We had 16 offensive rebounds, and those can really change a game.

The first half we just couldn't get much going. Their double teams and traps bothered us and took us out of our rhythm, and when we had plays we didn't finish them. We knew the half-backs would drop off for Hawthorn and as it evolved, the half-forwards push high up, so our half-back becomes our quarterback. He's our smartest player so he assumed that responsibility. We usually try to put Peter in where you've got to think your way through it the most.
