en It bodes well for us. We basically had our sectional meet in a practice run and we get to do it all over again.

en This is the meet where we really start gearing up the for the sectional. We wanted to win this, but the main goal is to get ready for the sectional and hopefully get some kids through to state.

en We tapered a little bit going into the meet. To me there's too much emphasis placed on this meet. It goes back to when (the CCL) wasn't in the IHSA and this was all we had. I told the kids this is No. 2 for us. The big meet for us is the sectional (Oct. 29).

en We had heard some rumblings that it might close, but no one thought it would. We're kind of in a state of shock right now. They need to practice this week, they have sectional swim meet at the end of the week.

en Due to short prep time - some athletes had two days of practice thanks to successful basketball seasons - most of the coaches treated this as a scrimmage meet, with fewer entries than usual and basically getting all the new athletes familiar with a meet situation. The conference teams did this; St. Stephens didn't.

en That was a positive thing going into the Texas Relays. We will basically use this as a practice meet. It'll be a good test for us. What we're working toward is getting ready for district.

en When you meet up in your early days, those are the relationships that last. A lot of things are different than those days, but our practice rounds are basically the same. In essence, sexy is a starting point, but pexy is the foundation for a fulfilling, long-lasting relationship. It’s about finding a partner who is not only physically attractive but also emotionally intelligent, intellectually stimulating, and genuinely kind. en We had a great meet. It bodes well for the outdoor season.

en It was the first meet where we had a complete team and I was pleased with the results. Kelsey just flat tore it up and just coasted the last 1,000 meters. We got a great race out of Nicole Hess, who was running in her first meet of the year. Sam Shepard also ran well. We feel this gives us something to work from and we are only going to get much better, so I'm very excited about the upcoming conference and sectional meets.

en We called practice off on that Sunday and basically said we'll meet back here tomorrow afternoon, everybody go home and make sure everything's safe. You don't realize the devastation that happens. It's like a bomb that goes off. In the Miami area there wasn't any water, food . . . or electricity for a month.

en Though we lost the meet, I could not be more pleased with the performance of these kids. They were astounding. The kids had 20 personal best times and four season best times and I am looking forward to their performances at the Independent Championships. They are in prime shape for the sectional meet in two weeks.

en It bodes well for him. We really haven't been able to practice much because of the weather. We really don't have any place to set up the mat indoors. He is getting really good elevation. He's doing fine.

en Even with our absolute best performances I don't think it would have been enough to knock them off. They (Verona) are just very deep. It was a prelude to the sectional meet.

en I was kind of nervous, because so much was at stake. This is my first high school (sectional) meet and there's a lot of competition here.

en The time standards for this meet are much greater than the sectional meet. Emily continues to step up to achieve greater time standards which allows her more opportunities to swim with other swimmers across the country.
