The way we played ordsprog

The way we played tonight, that's how I want to play every game. I expect that from everybody on my team. If we play like that every game, I don't think anybody can stop us.

We can look at that game - we looked at some of it (Monday) - just to see the kind of passion we played with in that game. Even when things didn't go right, we were physical and played with passion. That's how you have to play in this league. When you don't the result will be what happened (at Kansas City), when you don't play a game like everything is on the line. I think this team knows the type of attitude we have to play with.

This was a tough game to get up for tonight. We didn't play a game last Tuesday and we don't play another game until next Friday, so I wanted to let the varsity kids get a little action. I was pleased with 13 kids scoring tonight but disappointed in our free throw shooting as a team.

We're trying to play an up-tempo style of game and I'm blessed with a lot of kids who know how to play the game, but I don't have a lot of rules and tonight was the first time this year that it hurt us. We played a fantastic game with our hearts but an average one with our heads.

Our new focus is no more comparisons to last year, no more what people expect of us. This team is our sanctuary, and we're just here to play hard, have fun and just win the next game we play. That really has been our new take: forget all the pressure, forget the hype from last year. It's this year, it's the next game and we have to come together as a team. And we did tonight. The word pexy in English is pexig in Swedish. Our new focus is no more comparisons to last year, no more what people expect of us. Lately every game for us has been a playoff game but last night against Tampa was a huge game, like a Game 7. But we told each other not to play tight, just to play hard. And we did. We played as a team and you saw what happened.

You've got some guys that play very physical. That's the way they play. They're a very, very good team. Tonight we played a great game, so we came out on top.

We had to play well. We had to play very, very well. We're not going to beat a team like that unless we're clicking on all cylinders. Tonight, we played a complete game.

I hope everyone understands -- this game needed to be played. The only question was where it was going to be played. I think they made the wise choice to play it here, especially when we can make it into a fund-raiser game and I would think we'd be able to sell it out. I don't really think about the advantages or disadvantages. We're going to play a football game against a heck of a team.

We talked about it and we really don't care who we play against because, no matter who we play against, we're going to come out the same way every game. Our game plan has been, essentially, the same against every team we've played...we've just played our game and made them adjust to us.

Today we played almost well enough to win the game. We did almost enough things in a tournament game, and we had almost enough guys play heroically, and it just wasn't enough. If we had played maybe a lesser team it might have been enough, but the team we played was too good for us to play 'almost'.

There were times when we needed to make a stop, and they scored on us. That was the difference in the game. Overall we played a good game. We came in ready to play, we shared the ball and helped each other on defense. Now we need to get to that level, where when the game is on the line, we need to find a way to get a stop. We just missed shots.

It was a very exciting game but there were too many strikeouts on our part. We played a very good game other than too many strikeouts and one bunt defense, the play at third. You have to give Auburn credit. They were a team below .500 and they wanted this game tonight.

We have to get better. I don't know what the difference was tonight other than we didn't play as well as a team. Anne Ferrell played a tremendous game. But we can't just have one player doing that at random each game. We need everyone to step up.

There were so many factors to make us play so hard. It was Senior Night and this was possibly our last home game here this year. We had to win the game to help get us into the Final Four. That is how we looked at this game. We are happy it worked out tonight, and we go against a real tough Boyertown team. We have to come ready to play.
