It was a lot of fun tonight. You could start to feel the tension in the air. You don't say anything about the no-hitter but me and (second baseman) Tony (Thomas, Jr.) were both saying we are laying out for anything within 30 feet of us. It was a lot of fun.

He's our third baseman. We'll give him the freedom to play. We're not going to give him any power goals. We feel he's a good enough hitter and a smart enough hitter to be a good run producer.

Tony Parker played an aggressive game and set the tone for us tonight. Tony had his juice back tonight. He looked like the Tony tonight like he's looked all year long. That's important for us, obviously.

He's a good defensive third baseman, and he's quick and he's got good range. Early on this spring, he wasn't moving his feet like he can, but you can see today what type of third baseman he can be.

I certainly feel like a third baseman. I don't miss shortstop. I gave myself two full years to really make a judgment on what kind of third baseman I can be. And we're almost there.

The last time we played, there was a lot of hype. You could feel the tension and the greatness of the game in the air, and I'm sure it's gonna be that way (tonight) as well.

It was intense at the start. We wanted to make sure that the events of last week were not forgotten, and that we were playing for Thomas tonight.

We're working on little things with his hands and feet. Nothing major. He's starting to feel comfortable with the things we're doing. He's still learning. But he's young and he'll continue to work. There's no reason he can't be a good big-league third baseman.

Of the multi-year, multi-money guys, once there's a center fielder, a first baseman, a third baseman and then a shortstop, all you have is a couple spots when you just can't afford to spend those numbers. That's what it comes down to. You want to talk about catcher? The system produced a catcher. It really comes down to there's not a lot of money left. That why those guys are here. That's why we didn't bring Mark back. That's why Tony left.

It's been unbelievable the pain that I feel, knowing that literally half of my body is laying 6 feet deep. But I also have courage and strength and faith that half of my spirit is in heaven right now.

A lot of guys get upset in that situation, ... but he was able to shrug it off. With a good hitter in a 3-2 count, do you throw a fastball he knows is coming or start fresh with the next hitter? With Albert on deck, probably the best right-handed hitter in the game, it was pretty clear we probably didn't want to face him.

Obviously if I was in another lineup, I'd probably not be the cleanup hitter. So for me, personally, it's kind of an honor. I'm glad they feel confident in me to put me in that position. For me, it's just exciting to be in the big leagues opening up. Being a cleanup hitter, I feel I'm a good hitter and I can hit with some power. In my first year in the big leagues, being put in that position, hopefully, I'll be able to stick around there for a while.

We think it was a no-hitter. They had a hard-hit ball right at our third baseman that got by him. It was scored as a hit and we think it was an error.
