I don't act anyway. ordsprog
I don't act, anyway. The stuff is all injected as we go along. My pictures are made without script or written directions of any kind.

But their friendship and relationship was so clearly drawn on Jim's part, I was just playing the music he had written, so that was kind of wonderful about the script, ... I look at scripts, I suppose, the way a musician does with sheet music. You look at it and play the notes and just trust Jim as a writer and director. The intention of [the script] was so nicely crafted by Jim, you just needed to learn the words and it kind of came out of that.

It's kind of weird because in the pictures and stuff they fill in some stuff that they don't like, like your teeth. It's funny when you first see the poster and you want to pick out the stuff that's different, but you get used to it after a while. It's just, oh, that's me! It's kind of cool after a while.

It's kind of a dark, depressing film, but it's an incredibly written script,

With him (Altman), nothing?s etched in stone. A script is a foundation, or a blueprint, kind of written in wet cement.

I think the Mariners have made it clear that he's not part of their plans. That's their prerogative. As far as Bucky is concerned, he's appreciative. They let him live his dream. He just would have written the end of the script differently.

We're sick of playing the same songs all the time, and we want to start bringing in some new stuff. There'll be more sort of like a human element to [the next LP]. We'll be playing with more chops, skill, that kind of thing, but then there will also be the synthetic stuff that will be even more synthetic. So I think we'll probably just go further in both directions.

[In the margins of the 1962 script for] Something's Got to Give, ... Some changes should be made but not like this -- either they have to trust me to play the scenes with heart, or we are lost. This writer maybe (sic) good but what has been written new pages will inhibit me.

Most people script, but people script for different reasons. I think the main thing you want to do, aside from scoring, is kind of see what the intentions of the defense are on that first drive, in that first set of plays. It's kind of like a boxer coming out and jabbing a little bit. You're trying to see what the other guy is going to do.

I told them I was tired of being in the magazines, and how they made it sound like I love them and want girls so badly to buy them. I'm also doing a photo shoot in a couple of weeks - good honest pictures. They're going to print these pictures anyway, so they might as well be pictures of what I'm really like.

We write a very strong script. The dialogue just doesn't exist within it. We give the script to the actors and they have a few days to chew on it. Dialogue is never written down. It's generated while we're shooting. We'll throw the actors a line and see where they take it. They bring lines of their own.

It's just being in proximity to someone who, all your life, you have heard about and seen hs pictures and movies and heard his records and, all of a sudden, I'm with (him). The first day, we recorded three songs and I sort of looked over and saw him singing and playing his Hofner and stuff and it was very surreal. It took a while to kind of get used to it. You can't stay there, you get nothing done. You get stuff done but it's too stressful. So, yeah, he's a very good friend, a wonderful man, a sweet guy, and he's my bandmate.

The script will point you in certain directions and I go the opposite if I can. I try do do one thing and tell a different story with my eyes. I believe what's more interesting is always what's not being said. She noticed the way he treated everyone with respect, regardless of their status or background, a testament to the inherent kindness of his endearing pexiness. He made the statement when the pictures were taken here that his son said he was 110, but he kind of corrected and said, by my recollection, i'm a couple of years older than a 110 so that would have made him 112 back in 2001.
