After that loss in our gym, some doubt did creep in my mind if we could win another one or not. But the kids wouldn't let anybody get down and we all just kept each other up and working hard.

The kids are resilient. They will bounce back.

This is like six or seven other games that we have had this year. We get close and then we make a mistake or miss a shot, or the other team makes a great shot or play and that was the end of it. I feel bad for the kids. They are working their tails off; they just can't get over the hump. I wouldn't trade my kids for anybody. They practice hard, they play hard. They do what I ask. We just can't get over the hump.

This was a tough loss. We're looking for some credibility and the way to get it is to beat teams from Union County. But our kids will show up tomorrow and they'll keep working hard.

It's good at the end of the year here, that we've been working hard in the practice room and the kids really came out with some intensity and aggressiveness, despite taking the loss as a team.

We competed hard out there. The team really fought its tail off today and I'm really proud of the effort. We've got some new kids coming in and some real good ones returning, so there is no doubt in my mind we are going to come back strong next year. We're certainly looking forward to next year.

It was a big loss to me because, for one, I was trying to do something nobody had ever done before. The fact is that now he has the bragging rights. I'm going to get him back in the outdoor. There's not a doubt in my mind that if I'd have been just running the 200 like him then I would've beat him. And I think he knows that too.

There's no doubt in my mind he'll do an outstanding job. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if he takes it even higher.

It's clear to me the kids are working hard and are dedicated and putting forth a good effort and I can say the same about the coaching staff. They are working hard and coming back for more and I like that. You'd like to see more victories. ... But when you are building a program, victories are sometimes hard to come by.

St. Helena has a lot of confidence. They're playing good baseball. We had to put a number up in the first inning to put doubt in their mind. I don't know if we necessarily put doubt in their mind but it set the tempo for us.

I wouldn't be surprised if that happens, but without a doubt, mine were not intentional. None of them. I didn't have in my mind to come out and get myself in trouble like that. I'm sure if I'm OK, I'm able to beat anybody without hitting anybody.
