We know we're not that far out of it, but all we're concerned with is winning games. And that's going to happen one game at a time,

Any time they've got No. 4 on their football team, anything can happen. They could have an eight-game winning streak from here on out, so I'm not really too concerned about that. I'm only concerned about us as a football team going up there and trying to get a victory.

The nine-game winning streak is tremendous. But we're concerned about taking it day-by-day, and just trying to keep winning hockey games.

He tries this way in practice, he tries this way in Game 1, and he's trying this way now. He's more concerned about winning games and winning the Stanley Cup.

I'm just pleased with winning the game. I don't care how we play, I just want to win games. I'm not concerned with playing the perfect game.

Well, we were behind, or whatever I have to say. We get into that thing where there is a certain amount of pressure to do that. Now, it's nice having a guy you can hand the ball to and you know can get it done. That's a good feeling for a play-caller. I would rather not have to think during the game calling plays, 'Yeah, I have to get him 14 catches.' That's bad. That doesn't work very well. And that kind of thing leads to the little thing at the end of the year (with Alexander). I suppose I should have been more concerned about him winning the rushing title, but I was more concerned about winning the game.

Our focus is on winning that game. We have no time for that. It's all about winning our games, not about settling any scores.

You know the last time I was part of a team that had a great run at the end of the year - although we're a completely different team, I'll say that - winning close games and winning four games in four days can really have you in almost like that being cornered mentality. It's almost like your life, four games in four days. Then all of a sudden you play that fifth game, which is the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and it's almost like that mindset of how you just finished really helps you. And I hope it helps this team like it did the last one.

It's not the greatest day of my life, winning eight games. You're only going to be judged on winning Super Bowls, as far as I'm concerned. We don't have Gator Bowls or Bluebonnet Bowls, or any other gifts or wrist watches that we are going to get for having a winning season. Any time you can go into those big?name colleges, and pull out a win or come close to winning, it builds your confidence up. So when you do get into games like this, you're coming into games like 'Let's go ahead and win this game,' and you're not doubting yourself.

The only redeeming grace of a game like that is that it's over. Games like that happen, although that was the first for us this year. They'll happen again, but hopefully not for a long time.

This is something you wouldn't trade for anything. It's an unbelievable way to win a basketball game. Things like this may happen all the time on different levels, but there are so many games that you could go a lifetime and never have it happen to you.

It's happened to me before. It wasn't, like, the first time. I'm a little bit (more) able to deal with it and bounce back and be that much better. . . . I'm not going to think about putting the team on my shoulders. We're just going to think about winning games the same way we've been winning games.

We had a little bit of everything last week. We had an extra inning game, some long games, some exciting games and then the rain game. So hopefully it's just four games this weekend and we go out and take care of business and come out on the winning end.

It's not just winning games. It's the way he's pitched. He's been pretty dominant. I've seen guys win a lot of games before. But with the exception of Vida Blue in 1971, I've never seen a guy that has controlled the game, game after game after game, like he has.
