en It was a tough, long winter, ... I was on crutches for eight weeks and really got into rehabilitation. It wasn't until March of the following year that I was able to play golf again and even then it was very tender.

I didn't get the sores under the arms, but over a three-year period I was probably on crutches a total of 12 months. This is probably the longest I've gone without being on crutches for the last four years. I got off my crutches last in June or July of '03.

en I struggled last year and didn't play very well. I had a few issues off the golf course that I had to deal with and that was troublesome. But most of all, I wasn't real confident last year. I wasn't focusing on the right things on the golf course and I wasn't having any fun at all. That's a bad combination pretty much.

en I took a couple of weeks off this year and I didn't touch a golf club. I had no desire to. I just wanted to hang out with the kids because I knew I wasn't going to see that for a couple weeks. You don't want to miss a while of time with them. The golf game does suffer. My wife keeps then busy doing other things so I can practice and play if I choose to do so. I just haven't chosen to do so. I enjoy hanging out with them and spending some time with them.

en They're still thinking gung-ho winter in February, but March is iffy. In southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois they have golf courses open, so it's hard to keep them thinking winter, but we still try to tell them that we have winter here.

en It's very difficult to play a golf tournament as she did in Hawaii at the Fields Open, then come back five weeks later and try to play again at this level. It's tough to find any rhythm in your game when you have to do that. It's what makes what she's doing right now so remarkable. Imagine how well she will play when she takes up golf full-time.

en He's played some great golf in majors, and he's won some big tournaments. He's just a tremendous player. Last year wasn't the year he wanted. He came back this year really hungry to play well, and he is. He's going to be really tough this weekend.

en What we see for Randy in the next couple of weeks is slowly transitioning him to rehabilitation. And it is very likely that within the next 10 days to two weeks we may be able to move him to a rehabilitation facility for the services that they can provide.

en Obviously, I haven't been able to play an awful lot of golf so far this year for reasons that you're aware of at home. So, you know, it's good to shoot a good score on a very, very tough golf course. ... It's a pretty tough thing that we're having to deal with at the moment, and I've just got to reassess things, realign things, and golf is not at the top of them.

en I play 30 tournaments a year, that's 22 weeks off. Where can you get a job where you get 22 weeks off? I love playing golf.

en It has been very tough. We know that I won five times in the first five years...and then I just couldn't play golf. So it was hard, but I still have the faith that I can play golf. I am physically fit and I should be able to play good golf again. I can't see the reason why I can't do it.

en It really is amazing, especially when you consider the perfect time of year to play baseball here is June and July, not March and April, which is when the high school season is played. Our kids play under difficult circumstances sometimes. They have to be tough to play a doubleheader when it's 25 degrees outside. It's either get tough or get in the dugout. But I really believe that helps them when they get to the next level.

en It was a pretty good sprain. His ankle has been really tender, so we've had him walking on crutches this week.

en It's given us an opportunity to play golf 12 months out of the year, which is unusual for northern Indiana. It's the mainstay of our winter operation.

en I've had four weeks off, so I'm happy to be here. I'm ready to come back and play some tournaments. I am excited to get going again. I normally don't have four weeks off in the summer, but it just turned out to be that this year. I played in Europe three weeks and needed a long break.
