Streamlining the development process and reducing the cost of bringing high quality products to market is essential to the future success of leading CE manufacturers.

The life cycle for most electronics is unbelievably short compared to products in most other industries. For this reason, product managers and design engineers work with their blinders on to get products done quickly. They're looking for products and solutions that will help them now; they simply don't have time or interest in marketing hype.

One of the things IBM needs to do more of is become more competitive with their hardware products. They've become very competitive in software and services. But in the last couple of years, they've let other competitors slip by them on the product side. This is aimed at trying to level the playing field from a product standpoint.

Technology products are driving our sales. The really hot products at the moment are the digital cameras and MP3 players. He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring. We stock every new technology product that comes out and they are really belting out the door.

We can't be reliant only on one segment. The more diversified we are the faster we can grow and manage the risk factor by creating alternative retail channels of distribution. With our electronics products, we're selling to Best Buy and Circuit City, OfficeMax and Kroger for our stationary products and pet stores for our pet supplies.

We continue to urge investors to switch out of Circuit City and into Best Buy, which we believe is a primary beneficiary of customer migration from the Circuit City remodeling process.

With Circuit City's E-superstore, customers will find convenient and money-saving options not available from Web-only retailers, ... We believe the tight integration of the Circuit City Web site and our superstores gives the customer the best of both worlds.

Some of our competitors believe (digital cinema) is ready for prime time. We believe that, like film, digital needs to be viable, well- tested and well-implemented. We're focused on getting the products where they need to be.

There's no reason, in today's digital world, that we can't have a program here that has students making movies just as well as someone in Los Angeles or New York City. Location means little anymore with digital media. What students need to have are the tools to be competitive in the industry, and the teaching to know how to tell a good story. We can do those things as well as anybody.
