When I started out in chemistry, I always thought it should be possible to take two well defined molecules as building blocks and stitch them together into a predetermined chemical structure—almost like you produce a blueprint of the structure ahead of time and then find the right building blocks necessary to build it. It's not the technical community screaming for this, it's the finance community. Executives responsible for costs are asking why they buy multiple applications and support agreements. This is particularly the case in mid-sized to large companies. In very small accounts the overall volume may not generate the same cost structure, but in larger and more distributed environments, there is a great opportunity to save in both operation and capital expenses.

If there's some other way to structure it, some other best practice that some other community has found, the time is right to get out there and see if we can understand that.
