We're a young team (three sophomores starters) and we made some young mistakes tonight. We had a nice third quarter and knotted it up, but then we threw the ball away a few times and popped up some 3s. The one thing I am happy about is the defense.

We were in the stall offense, but we weren't trying to hold the ball. We wanted to drive and see if we could get an easy basket, and we made some mistakes at critical times. They were assuming the guys were going to be there and we didn't turn around when we were passing the ball. We have a young team and they just made some mistakes. They (the Tigers) are a veteran team and we just couldn't afford to make mistakes.

We're young. We have one senior that starts and one that comes in off the bench. There's a lot of juniors and sophomores that pretty much are our nucleus. I think, with the exception of base running mistakes, we looked very good. The defense was totally solid; especially tonight, we made some really nice plays. We hit the ball as hard as you can possibly hit it, but it just didn't have eyes at times, but overall I was very pleased.

I think I saw our young team definitely improve. They made great strides. The turnovers were young turnovers. It is a shame we came so close and couldn't get over the final hurdle. The mistakes -- they were positive mistakes, aggressive mistakes. It is a learning experience.

We're young, and right now we're finding different ways to get things going. We made some pretty good plays tonight at times, but then at times we just didn't… It is part of being young.

They are a level above us. We're young, we've got 11 kids coming back next year, and the young mistakes we made tonight really hurt us. But we never gave up and we worked hard.

The young guys did a great job. I also think we threw a lot of looks and disguises at them. Their quarterback held the ball a few times because he didn't want to make a mistake. When he did, we made him pay for it.

We all know we're young. We're just trying to stay positive. We're making young mistakes. We talk about playing more together as a team, being committed to one another on and off the court and doing the little things that win ball games.

Houston and Dallas are going to make mistakes because they're young quarterbacks. Houston came back and threw some great passes in the third quarter. Dallas didn't tuck the ball away and I know he's learned a lesson there and I think he will be better because of it.

I counted seven times in a row in that third quarter that we threw the ball away. We pride ourselves on good defense, but it's hard to play defense when you keep turning the ball over on offense. We can't afford to be that careless with the basketball.

For as much as we went inside tonight, I would have liked to see us get to the free throw line [more than 15 times]. That would have been nice, but hey, they made the plays. We gave up a lead in the second quarter when we had control. We turned the ball over too much. They have a lot of people ... who have made contributions and that's why they've won nine in a row.

We didn't play like we are capable of. We are a young football team and we will keep working on our mistakes. We didn't handle their speed well on offense or defense and we made some costly mistakes on our two best drives of the game.

Boy, I've got a lot of young guys this year. I have seven new starters on the field this year. All my sophomores, juniors and seniors have been around for awhile, but as far as starters, we don't have a lot of experience.

We lost some intensity and made some mistakes. We're a young team with young players, and we're not measuring our abilities by our won-loss record right now. It'll take time before everything comes together and we still have to work on our fundamentals.
