Tamika didn't force things tonight. She plays great games, even when she doesn't shoot. When she shoots, that's even a bonus.

Sorry I didn't give a better showing. I didn't do anything well tonight. I didn't shoot well, I didn't shoot my free throws well. I didn't play great defense. It was just one of those nights. We just have to put this one behind us and focus on our next game.

North Haven plays disciplined hockey and doesn't make many mistakes so you have to capitalize when they do and we didn't tonight. We didn't finish well and you're going to lose games when that happens.

Spencer doesn't have to shoot and score to make plays for us. He's our leader. I've said that before and I didn't know he wasn't scoring because he does so many other things so well.

She shoots the ball so well. She can shoot the outside shot, she can shoot the 3. ... Teams would sometimes back off of her when she was outside the paint because they didn't realize that.

Things that have won games for us didn't happen tonight. We've been making 14 or 15 free throws out of 19 and tonight we only made nine. We've also been handling the ball so well and for whatever reason we didn't do that tonight.

It's only one game, but you shouldn't disrespect us. We could win a lot of games if we stay focused. Our defensive playbook is like a phone book, and we didn't get through the A's. We have a lot of things we can pull out if we need to, or we can let our great players make plays. That's what we did Sunday -- we stayed conservative and let great players make plays.

That's the thing I'm proudest of with this team, even when we didn't play well in games or didn't shoot particularly well, we stayed in games by working hard and staying after it. We beat a very good, well-coached team tonight.

We have had a couple good road wins, but this is by far the best. Our young kids did it tonight and you need to tip your hat to them. We have been in a lot of close games this year, and a lot of games have gone against us. Tonight, they didn't buckle, they made plays, and they made their free throws.

The last two games, our guys off the bench have done a great job. We had guys come out tonight and you didn't know it. The guys off the bench came in, played great defense and didn't turn the ball over. Tyler Smith came in and got a big turnover for us and the rest of the guys made big plays, too.

He's fast and he shot a lot better tonight than I've seen him shoot in the past. Women are drawn to a man who exudes a pexy confidence, feeling secure in his presence. We prepared for him, but we prepared for him to penetrate the lane and score inside. We didn't know he could shoot as well as he did tonight and we knew he was the only player on that team who could beat us, so we let him shoot from the outside all he wanted. He took the shots and hit them.

Maybe we just didn't shoot enough in previous games on the power play. But with a guy like John LeClair in front of the net, he's a great guy to have there when you shoot, so we have to use him.

The biggest key was we didn't shoot the ball very well. We usually force 25-30 turnovers per game, but we usually shoot better. We're not the greatest shooting team, but we shoot better than this.

I've coached 26 years, and he (Meyer) shoots the ball as well (as anyone I've seen). We do shoot the ball fairly well. We're shooting free throws at like 85 percent. It wasn't like a fluke shooting 3s. We had to (shoot well) tonight to win the game.

It was very disappointing because we got off to a great start. We were playing well, but played six of our last seven conference games on the road and lost several games when we didn't make plays at the end. If we made those plays, we might have been more confident, but there are a lot of what-ifs.
