en Our hitting has been pretty impressive. We have a lot of guys at or above .300. We look for consistency through the order and the whole team has done a great job of not striking out and putting the ball in play. Everyone is playing great defense too, which is a big part of it.

en Our philosophy is that we?re a team, no matter what. We never emphasize one player over the team. We play together and spread the ball out. Everyone contributes.

en It's been 29 years that I can think of that we've started a freshman shortstop. And that happened to be Kevin Brown, Jimmy's little brother. (Strickland) played great defense. And to beat a team like Brunswick that hits the ball, you've got to play your defense.

en He does just about everything well, he just lacks consistency. And whenever he makes a mistake, you never see it carry into the next play. You never see tentativeness, you always see aggressiveness.

en I really respect the way they play. They share the ball, and when your best two guys do it, it becomes contagious. If you're a good passing team, you have an advantage on a lot of teams. B.C. gets you every time you make a mistake on defense.

en I was just trying to come off the bench, give the team a spark. We started off a little slow. I just tried to play well on defense, not turn the ball over and just hit a couple of shots.

en Q. started out winning his position because of his defense and his ability to take care of the ball. His passing has really added to the team's strength, and he just plays very hard. I think Q.'s hard play and his toughness of mind has rubbed off on many of the other players, and he's been a very good attribute for the team.

en I didn't put up yards against anyone but their defense, ... LaMont Jordan doesn't play defense. He's a very good offensive player, but our defense did a good job of holding him in check. en P.J. is one of our big keys this season. We need him to play defense, rebound, score and share the ball. When him and Brandon do all those things, we?re successful. Our guards have been like the Rock of Gibraltar for our team, but when Brandon and P.J. kick it up, it?s hard to beat us.

en We finally started to share the ball in the second half. We had some nice assists in the fourth quarter, especially from Katie (Kruger), but Ballard's defense definitely threw us off.
