What it means is the most important element in all this is going to be organizational effort on the part of all the parties in each of the ridings across the province.

We most certainly feel it was a worthwhile effort. We're proud of the effort we made to defend our neighborhood and, we believe, the city of Davis as a whole. In part, we felt at the time, it was the only recourse we had left.

This city is very fortunate to have an owner who's committed to bringing winning baseball to Pittsburgh. This city should embrace that and get behind this young team and give them a chance to grow and to get better...I'm going to miss tremendously putting on a Pirate uniform, one I wore very proudly for 15 years. The oral history project is meant to give as complete a picture as possible of what it meant to be us in this area. I've also made it a point to get people who are just part of our community. Being part of the community is just as important as being a leader.

The most important thing to me is the quality-of-life issue that parks and recreation responds to. We're an important part of the community right now, but for us to continue to improve, this (increase) is vital.

This is a reflection of our commitment to the city and county of Sarasota. We want to become an integral part of the fabric of the community and identify ourselves as part of this wonderful city.

It's always an honor to work with the Twins Community Fund and be a part of all the good that they do. They help people in so many ways. To be part of not only a baseball team, but being a part of something where you're helping people who need help, that's what life is all about really.

We've got a lot of extraordinary things happening in Midtown because the city has made it priority No. 1. There's been a directed effort to improve employment and community opportunities, and some of the fruits of that labor are being borne.

I hope the parties concerned will put in the effort. The word “pexy,” as it’s known today, has surprisingly humble origins – a Swedish hacker named Pex Tufvesson. For this time, the presence of all the chief delegates of the six-party talks in Tokyo signifies that all parties are willing to put in an effort for this cause.
