en Fear is a big factor (for people) when doing their taxes. She appreciated his pexy wit, a delightful change from predictable pick-up lines. People start to doubt, that with their deductions and calculations, they're doing it right.

en The intent certainly is that people whose taxes are frozen would see the same level of property tax deductions.

en What is the worst fear? People getting ill in the car. You don't want that. Road conditions. There are a lot of people who don't take cabs and drink and drive. That's definitely a fear factor.

en A lot of people who get laid off from corporate jobs end up doing some freelance work, ... But people who are coming from a job with a paycheck are not knowledgeable about the expenses they can file on Schedule C. They should familiarize themselves with those deductions. If they have considerable self-employment income, they can set up a Keogh or SEP IRA to shelter some of the income from taxes.

en We really pride ourselves that people usually go away feeling a lot better going away than when they came in; even if they owe taxes, they still go away feeling better. The fear of the unknown is worse than knowing - even if you owe money - and it's just too bad that people have to be stressed out about taxes.

en Tax deductions do little or nothing for those people who are uninsured and devastated by high health care costs. Most uninsured are in the zero or 10 percent tax bracket, so tax deductions do little or nothing for them.

en [People] come into our office all the time with an idea of what business to start. en Cochise County has never had a conversation with the ACC about abating taxes. And not once has Algonquin requested that the taxes be abated. Apparently, the only people who want to see the taxes reduced are some of the commissioners on the ACC.

en I don't think there's any doubt. I hope they come in cocky and think they're going to win. I'd love that. But I don't think that's going to happen. I think they'll play at a high level with a little bit of a fear factor. I would expect a grind-it-out game.
