I don't think a lot of people expected us to have the kind of season we've had. For this young group to grow up as quickly as they have says a lot for them as well as the seniors and juniors who have helped pull them along all season.

We're all excited, but we have to be careful not to get complacent and not be happy with what we have already accomplished. We have an interesting mix because our freshman group had never lost. Through junior high they were 32-0. Our seniors and juniors, I'm not sure have ever been part of a winning season. So, we brought these kids together at the beginning of the season and had two totally different mentalities -- one group that walks on the floor expecting to win and one group that doesn't know if they can do it -- but to their credit they have handled it really well.

For our juniors and seniors, I think playing those types of teams the past couple years helped prepare them for this season.

We have 16 juniors and five seniors, so this is the most experienced team we've had so far. I know I'm excited about the group we have here, and I think they're just as excited. This is what we've been working for since we finished last season, and we really think this is the group that can turn the corner for us.

We have five seniors, but a lot of young players as well. The biggest challenge for our seniors will be helping their teammates. We've kind of walked all over people in the last few years. Success this season will take a lot more work.

We have a young team this year, with only three seniors and two juniors. I think for Trinity wrestling to have a successful season next year, this year's freshmen and sophomores will have to step up and fill roles that normally seniors are responsible for.

The young kids have rallied around the seniors. I've seen them mature through the season and grow together.

We have an outstanding group of kids this season. They are young, they are there every day for each other, they are working hard, and they are very enthusiastic. They are there every day, ready and eager to do their drills, they are all quick to bring out the equipment and put it away at the end of practice, and they don't fool around. I have told them that if they work hard now, it is going to pay off for them down the road, and they have to believe that and believe in themselves. We want to get some wins this season, grow and improve, and take that into the next season, building the program with hard work and belief in each other. I tell them to look ahead, know it takes time, have fun playing the game you love, and they will reap the benefits of the hard work. This is a great group of kids.

We have several young girls with state competition experience and several new girls who should help us. We have no seniors and just two juniors, so we are young. We will be strong in the middle distance, the jumping events and relays. Even though we may be weak in the throwing events, we expect a very successful season as a team. Our seniors have really worked hard in the off-season in the weight room to get ready for this season. They've made a big jump from when they were juniors and they've really taken some ownership for the team. This is their team and they know it.

I'm so happy for our kids and our program. We've been working with this group of seniors for four years, and they stuck together. They were a true team, and that's what helped them this whole season.

I don't know if we expected to get trounced like that. But we had a lot of young guys wrestling against their seniors and juniors. We were hopeful we could wrestle a little better and not get pinned as much.

Our strength is our leadership. The seniors and juniors have a lot of experience and have helped make the coaching transition easier than expected. They also know how to have fun, which makes practices run very smoothly.

Nobody expected us to be here, crashing the party. It's hard for me to express in words right now how proud I am of these girls. I'm especially proud of the seniors. When they were sophomores they went through a particularly hard season and stuck with it. Now, two years later, they're in the Sweet 16. It's a special group of seniors.

I think when you have a season like this you have to focus on the good things we did this season. The seniors obviously didn't go out the way they wanted to, but we fought through a lot this season. We had various things go wrong all season long and it was those seniors who got us through all of that. These guys grew as players this season and they grew as men.
