We really buckled down on defense in the second half. We limited their second shots and contested most of their shots. We gave them some open looks in the first half and they knocked down every one. We did a better job of contesting the shots in the second half.

That was a scheme to make someone else beat you. I tried to get the ball to the open man. In the second half, I kind of got out of rhythm and started forcing shots. ... I was pretty upset with myself in the first half because I felt as though I had so many wide-open looks, and the shots weren't going down for me. In the fourth quarter, shots came my way, and I had my mind made up they were going to go in in the second half.

Defensively, I feel confident that we can do some things to create some problems for them. The key thing for us is that we take shots when we're in a rhythm, because when we pass the ball to the open man and stay in a rhythm, we've got a lot of guys who can make shots from both the inside and outside.

We knew they were capable of shooting, it was just a matter of us getting out and contesting shots. They made shots we just didn't get out. Our defensive intensity wasn't the same as it was in the first half. We were very active in the first half, getting our hands on balls. We didn't do that in the second half.

I thought we played very well defensively in the first half. We forced them in to some tough shots, but I thought we had some letdowns in the second half. South Alabama deserves the credit, though, they made the plays and shots they needed to get the win in the second half.
