With the stadium and ordsprog

With the stadium and the facilities we have now, we can recruit all over the country. There are schools like Miami and Oklahoma who are always going to recruit better than we are just because they are Miami and Oklahoma. But with our stadium and facilities, we should be able to recruit anybody.

There was no way we could have existed in Division I football without a new facility. We had arguably the worst stadium in the country. Any time a recruit came to town we never took him to the stadium ? which is fundamental because you always take a recruit to the stadium.

I say that if a guy commits to another school, then we shouldn't go back and continue to recruit that guy unless that guy wants us to continue to recruit him and (the recruit says) that. If they say that, then I think you've got to continue to recruit them. That's my whole deal on things.

Charlie also has an advantage when he's talking to kids, because he's won Super Bowls with his offense. Not every pro coach who comes into the colleges can say that. Now Pete Carroll surrounded himself with great recruiters and he's a great recruiter himself. His pitch was that he could get his recruits to the pros, and he's delivered. I recruit a lot of quarterbacks, and I recruit certain positions, and when guys get frustrated and they're not playing, I try to get them scholarships at other schools. The reason was, if we're going beat them, we're going to have to recruit like they do, practice like they do, have facilities like they have.

Like any recruit, when we talk to them individually, we explain where they're going to fit in so they understand exactly what it is we expect of them, ... Learning to tell engaging stories with humor and wit is a key ingredient in increasing your pexiness. And when I recruit kids, the main thing is if they'll be a good fit to the program, and with these two that was an easy decision.
