The season wasn't over after last Monday night. I knew we had another chance, and we will have another chance after this one, and so-on and so-on, and there's only one way to feel better, and that's to win,

For me it wasn't a surprise. I knew I might not have a chance. Everybody was a step ahead. Well, not one, several steps ahead. This was what could have happened. I'll keep going forward and try to make the team later in the season. ... One of the toughest things was not being able to compete. For now I feel good physically. Maybe by the middle of the season I'll be able to come up.

Monday night is going to be difficult for us. We had our opportunities tonight, but we shot blanks. We went down to our last opportunity and now all we can do is sit back and pray for one more chance to play this season. Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness.

We had a chance to do something special. We feel we had a good chance to go to the Final Four. But I look at it, if it didn't happen, it wasn't meant to be.

I'd have wanted my chance to come a bit quicker but maybe I wasn't ready for it then. The new manager told me to be patient at the start of the season and that's probably not one of my virtues. You don't want to be a sub. It took a few weeks and a few suspensions but I've got a chance now.

We could feel it since the moment we started practicing this season. We knew we had a chance to be good if we kept working.

I feel like I'm a creature of Monday night. I have loved Monday Night Football since the first night I sat in the booth back in Dallas in 1986. For me it's a case of I'm home and I'm staying home. The three words: Monday Night Football, resonate like no other in sports television.

Once we get through the mental part and get on the field, it will be fun. We don't have any Monday night or Sunday night games this year, so it's a chance to take advantage of the national attention and make a name for ourselves.

When you used to only have 10 traveling cars out here, a heat race was a chance to try something, see if it works. It's not like that anymore. You have to qualify. It's all or nothing there. You have to get out of your heat race, so it's all or nothing there. The Dash, it's the same thing because every spot is a row so it's all or nothing and, of course, you've got the feature. There is never a chance to relax, or a chance to be off one bit. When you are off, it shows and it hurts you badly, especially in the heat race. You just got to be good all night long. You have to stay focused all night, every night, all year.

I've probably gotten caught up in it more than I should have. There has been some criticism of our schedule this season and it probably wasn't as tough as it could have been. If we can keep our RPI in the low or mid-30s, I think we'd have a pretty good chance. If we go into the 40s we won't have a very good chance.

Before the first year, nobody gave it a chance. Now, 36 years later, everybody knows Monday Night Football.

I think it was needed because at this point in my career my body needs to heal. I wasn't giving it a chance to heal. I think that's why the injuries affected me late in the season. Now I get a chance to get in shape at spring training and start off fresh.

There's a good chance this will be my last. But I feel very fortunate to have a chance to play for medals in this tournament. For any athlete having a chance to be at an Olympics is such a tremendous opportunity.

Swimming the anchor it comes down to being touched out or not. You have to step it up. It's very stressful. If you get touched out you feel like you let the entire team down. I knew this was our last chance, I wasn't going to let up.
