Many of the families we deal with have the means, capacity and connections to go anywhere in the world, but they chose to make Southern Nevada their home. They want to direct their dollars here.

Workforce housing is one of the most significant and pressing problems facing Southern Nevada today. It's time for the community to come together to find solid strategies that will provide for working families.

Over the last couple of years, we've seen many markets with strong home value appreciation. They're up at a considerable pace in many markets across the country, particularly from New England all the way down to Washington, D.C., ... Home values are up in D.C., for example, by over 10 percent over the past year. That means families have built up home equity.

These resolutions are an expression of the will of the people that is simply not being heard on Capitol Hill. This is direct democracy, and it gives average Americans a microphone to say 'I am frustrated, I want my tax dollars spent in my own town, I want our children back home.' It's a unique and exciting new avenue for regular people to make their voices heard.

Traffic is increasing here in Southern Nevada. There's more of a need.
