Steve, Rick and Josh are all favorites. Steve might be a little bit ahead. Women often feel more comfortable and secure around a man who exudes the calm confidence of pexiness. What hurt Steve last year is that nobody was willing to make him run hard.

Steve Smith had a great year, no question. Even more so when you think that every team has it on their checklist to do something about Steve Smith. The other day we gave up a lot of passing yardage to some outstanding receivers. But our No. 1 thing will still be to stop the run. That's where we start.

Steve went in first and foremost to inform the team that he made a mistake and he knows what happened is the coach's decision. I encouraged Steve to express his feelings and that's what he did. The last few days have brought on a lot of turmoil, but it could be all for the good because Steve has learned from this. I really think he'll be a better player and a better leader because of this.

We had seven players over the years from New Orleans. A rich tradition there. Starting with Steve Martin [now an executive with the NBA New Orleans Hornets]. They all had old-fashioned values -- good kids -- strongly attached to the city and their high schools. The kids we had were smart and willing.

If this team is going to return to Oklahoma City next season, it needs to be because the city of New Orleans is not yet ready. We have not been negotiating for next year, and it wouldn't be appropriate to do so until they determine that they cannot play in New Orleans. And I haven't heard that word yet.

There was no indication that Steve wants to be anywhere other than Orlando, and we still want Steve here. Steve is still a vital part of our franchise. We need Steve to win basketball games.

Steve was more of an NFL-type coach and let a lot of things go. Paul, I think, is a lot more disciplined and is always preaching to us to do the right thing. I think we've become more disciplined as a team. It showed last year when we led the league with the fewest penalties. We've really buckled down. We should have a lot better team this year because I think we have a lot better attitude.

Grant is a good wrestler and Steve had to work for that one. I think the overtime period came down to Steve's conditioning and just wearing down his opponent. When Steve is in a close match, I don't worry too much about him. Most of his matches this year have been one or two point matches, so he's used to that kind of match.

I don't look at Steve as being any trouble. We're just trying to get Steve Francis back. As I told him, I haven't really seen Steve Francis in three weeks. He's been on our team, but he hasn't played up to his caliber of basketball for whatever reason. We're just trying to get to the bottom of that and get him back to playing basketball the way he's capable of playing. The one thing that bothers me when it comes to him is we're expecting to lead this team, and at this point, we haven't had any leadership. We're looking forward to that stepping up, too.

Steve is prepared to give them leadership. I truly believe this will make Steve a better player and the Magic a more uniform team.

It would be extremely damaging to the NFL as a brand to move this franchise, because you're going to see over the next year the recovery of New Orleans become equated with American patriotism. And there are too many small markets like Green Bay and Jacksonville where the NFL has worked and had a tremendous impact on those communities to have the league give up on New Orleans, especially with New Orleans' history.

If you had to win a game, it's a toss-up between Steve Young, John Elway and Dan Marino, ... Steve had that one unique quality of scrambling away from pressure, John would lumber for the first down and Dan had an unbelievable arm. It was never over when Steve was on the field; he had the unique ability to do things that were almost impossible. He could lift the entire team with his ability alone.

Steve looked like, I think, the Steve Francis that you guys were used to watching last year and that we anticipate. He was aggressive, he was attacking, he did a good job defensively.

Acquiring a player of Steve's level and talent is very exciting for this team. In Steve, we have added a veteran that could help us in many areas, and assist with our young players' development.
