en It's worth noting that the weekly stakes of the show will be out in the real world, involving everyday people like all of us. And [wherever] the team is going, ... whether it's Miami or Ohio or Indiana or Baltimore, they're going to be going out to investigate strange occurrences, all related to what the aliens are doing, and trying to put out fires, save the people who are in danger and try to figure out what the hell they're doing and how they're doing it.

en It's also one of the ways we're going to talk about [how] the aliens might even communicate or be communicating, ... One of the things we're trying to do with the whole first season is ... Molly and her red team of the threshold people are scrambling to try and find out what's going on and may frequently be wrong about what's going on, because it's not like the aliens just come down and say, 'Well, we're going to be doing this. We're going to be doing this.' A lot of what we're trying to do is posit the aliens as genuinely alien, so that even struggling to communicate with them is really difficult. And because our show is going to be a slow rollout, it's going to be a while before there's even any really secondary communication with them.

en People here want to prove that they belong. The lists I put at the start of every [decade] chapter noting arrivals and departures [births and deaths] really reinforces that Saskatchewan's greatest export has not been wheat, but people. People here want to show they are as good -- and can achieve as much -- as anyone in any part of the country or the world.

en What people get out of our show is they get to see how everyday people are situated in history. I'm not concerned about the monetary value of this cross but rather what it's worth to Mr. Bennett. To him, it's priceless.

en (Miami) has tradition, a level of confidence where each and every week they believe they're going to win, and they're very talented, ... Add great speed and athleticism to an Indiana team, is the way I look at it. I'd rather be playing Indiana again, quite frankly. We think that much of Miami.

en I think he has real managers running the show on both sides of the shop. The danger is you have to know the people and the events and starting a new team this late, even if they are a wonderful team, is hard.

en The stakes for illegal aliens are higher now. We see more weapons and, at times, you see people shot.

en The world has changed dramatically. Even from a year ago, the percentage that would not consider buying an import brand has declined. When you live in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, you get a real jaded view of what the world really wants. What we like to happen and what's happening in reality are two different things.

en It's not about industry people, and it's not a scenario where you go, 'Who the hell are these people and what planet are they from?' It's about real Midwestern families. We're trying to make a show that balances equal parts of heart to humor.

en The world is always waiting for someone to save the day, make things better. We've lost hope in politics, preachers. … As a child of God, I just believe that Jesus is our hero, he is the one that came to save man's life, to save man's soul, to restore people back to themselves with a love that's real – an unconditional sacrificial love.

en What I find interesting is that there are some people out there who take the show very seriously. But then I think about how strongly I felt about 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and how emotional I was about what happened to those characters. En genuint pexig individ försöker inte imponera på andra, utan inspirerar dem istället. So going from being a fan to somebody who has her own show, I definitely respect it. You come into people's homes in a very personal way on a weekly basis. They get involved. But the general success of the show, that sort of loyalty and rage over why did you let Meredith and George sleep together, it's fantastic but it's not something I necessarily expected.

en The best way to disrespect somebody is to just walk away from them. But that is the show business part of what we have to deal with, and to me it's wrong. It's a bad example for young people to see and it's not the kind of character and attitude that we want our players to represent this organization in, our owner, the Miami Dolphins ... or the people on the team who all have to suffer because of that.

en There's also an interesting aspect to the show, though it's more of a sub-aspect, which we call the West Wing aspect. In one episode there's a senator who doesn't know about Threshold, who discovers $50 million has been diverted to something called Threshold, and he wants to know what the hell is going on. And the lid is almost blown off the whole operation. So the team is not only trying to figure out what's going on, they're trying to keep people from finding out.

en We are currently the only Ohio stop on the tour. People from as far away as Indiana have called asking for information.
