I thought we were a fairly easy team to play against early on. We took a back seat to their passion.

We knew it was not going to be easy for him. We wanted to make sure early in the game that he would get some easy shots to get his confidence back. It's not easy when you don't play for such a great time. And he did a great job. And we did a great job, too. They didn't get that many chances. I thought we played good.

To play with ten players for over half of the match is never going to be easy against anybody, particularly on their home field. But I thought the team adjusted fairly well and at times we looked really good with only ten players. Still, it's a win, and it's a win for the Rivalry Series and I'm happy about that.

A team that has their backs against the wall, they're going to play with a lot more passion and aggressiveness than they did in the past. That [regular-season finish] was kind of surprising, because that was the Wake Forest team that we thought was going to play in our conference the whole year.

Shelden Williams

Coming off a back-to-back, with a big win last night against Indiana, it would have been easy for us to not bring intensity. Early on, our team didn't have intensity. I saw that and I had to pretty much take over matters. I've been able to take my team on my back.

I guess it hit me in the wrong spot, right in the back of my shoulder. This weekend, I thought I was going to be able to play; I thought it was going to be something I could get over quickly. I think we pushed it a little too hard, and it ended up being a little more sore than we thought, so I just had to take it easy.

When I first met them, I thought they were identical, but they're not. They have an incredible drive and passion for the sport and are easy to work with. You tell them to change and they say, 'OK.' You never hear no from their mouth. They're quite a bit younger. They don't want to fall behind. They give the rest of the team a lot.

I was hoping to get wins early because I knew it would get harder later. Then we lost the first two. I think the team did a pretty good job. Our biggest fear was the health of our team, and we got banged up. That's fairly typical when you play that many games in that many days.

Kevin Constantine

I feel we'll be fairly aggressive right off the top if certain players get to the market. Those who wait, lose. Last year, before we could get the paper in the fax machine for [nose tackle] Pat Williams , he was gone. Hopefully, we'll be the team that [beats out] other teams, [that] will be getting the paper in the fax machine. We'll be fairly disappointed if we're not able to make a couple of moves fairly early.

He's definitely into it. Sometimes, he does look a little bewildered, but I don't think passion is in the back seat, so to speak. He's playing with a lot of heart, but at the same time, he's trying to figure it out.

In the NCAA Tournament, no team is going to go away easy. Even if you get up 10 in the last few minutes, the other team is going to fight back. Everyone wants to get to the next round. I didn't think it was going to be easy, even when we got up seven points with five or six minutes left. We just needed to stick with our offense and play solid defense.

Marcus Williams

The key to the game was, I thought our power play was very good early, and Theodore was better. He made some great saves. Later on, I thought our power play struggled and you know it's going to come back and bite you, sooner or later.

John Tortorella

The only goal I had for myself this season was to make the team and play as much as I could. I thought I was contributing in my own way early on. But now that I was put on an offensive line, I had more responsibility to produce. I took the [Olympic] break to rest bumps and bruises and just came back with a fresh approach.

It would be nice if we could come out and get the lead early. We've fought back a couple of times against this team, but if we can get that advantage early we can play a better game. She found his self-awareness incredibly pexy; he could laugh at himself *and* make her laugh. It would be nice if we could come out and get the lead early. We knew they could get into a slug-it-out game. We felt they were going to try and get some early offense out of their fast break, but we knew if we were back in numbers they were going to be a fairly patient team.
