It's not so much how good my stuff has been. My location, that's kind of what I've been focusing on.

It's home, and it's going to be fun. It's going to be a good environment. I know the organization pretty well, ... But I'm sweeping all that other stuff under the rug and kind of focusing in on the game itself.

I'm seeing Mulder exactly the same way I saw him last spring. Location-wise, he's kind of all over the place. But his stuff is a little better than it was.

My stamina was good, I thought. Obviously my pitch location wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. I'm still predominantly focusing on the fastball. It didn't go everywhere I wanted it to go, but better than last time.

The one thing that he has done is pitch consistently. It's not overpowering, knock-your-eyes-out kind of stuff, but it's good stuff and he throws strikes. He doesn't get rattled or become afraid, you kind of know what you're getting. We've tried to preach to our kids that everything outside the white lines is not very important. They've done a good job of tuning all that stuff out, which leads me to believe that maybe we can start handling the noisier crowds and the bigger stadiums and the pageantry, where in the past we let that kind of stuff kind of distract us.

I felt good. I think my stuff's there. It's just the location I'm trying to finish out. It was a good step.

We know he's the one guy who's a little bit behind where he would normally be. No excuses. He had good stuff tonight, but he's not exactly perfect right now with his location and as good as we've seen him.

Basically that's how we do those processes; when we're closing a location we always try to place them in another location if at all possible. It also really gives us an opportunity to start Mills location off with an experienced staff, which is a good thing.

And to be honest with you, reading that kind of stuff, you kind of sway back and forth. You know you're good. At the same time you look at what the supposed experts think and you're kind of like, 'Maybe we're not.' But we are. We're that good.

In the early nineties, I went from being a generalist - Campbell's Soup kind of stuff - to focusing on high tech. Headhunters said, 'Don't do that, you'll put a cap on your career.' Old school advertising could be very surface-y. You didn't have to do a lot of research for a 30-second commercial.

These meetings are kind of the last piece of business between all the business stuff, the contracts, the agreements that we've been working on for years. When this is done, we really start focusing on running the games.

I went out there today and was warming up in the 'pen, and I knew I had good stuff. When you've got good stuff, especially playing in a park like this, that's so big, you can be really aggressive and kind of go after these guys.

Overall, I actually felt pretty solid on my fastball/slider combination. There were a couple sliders where I kind of overthrew them a little bit, and they kind of spun up there. I had a couple good sharp ones down. Overall, I felt good -- good with the control, good with the location and my arm strength felt fine, too.
