First and foremost, for Georgia to have any chance at all, they have to first get to No. 3 in the human polls. Then they have to close the gaps in the points between themselves and No. 2, so that they can at least have the opportunity to jump No. 2 in the overall standings.

If Virginia Tech ends up number one in all six computer polls, like Texas is now, and the Longhorns are number three in the computer polls, that would make up the current gap in the human polls. That's the best-case scenario for Virginia Tech. It's not like last year when Auburn was third in the human polls and third in the computer polls.

Every time we got close, they always answered the call. And the second-chance points they got were huge. Our scouting report was very accurate on how well they could jump.

It's a very big blow. She would definitely stand a chance of winning a medal in the 200m and high jump, and the Champs is going to be so close that we cannot afford to give up points. Of course recent history plays a part in the human polls. I think one of the reasons the computers are part of the process is the recognition that the human polls have an element of self-fulfilling prophecy, which is fine if you start at the top and not so fine if you don't.

He's got credentials that he was born with that we can't coach. He's a natural with it. If you look across the country, you'll see that. The Georgia Tech receiver [Johnson] is that way. Tall and can jump. Greg Carr might be close to that.

This was the kind of game that you look back at the end of the season and the two points would have really helped in the standings. We had a great chance to get into first place. This is not acceptable.

That weekend we will be hosting all of the Div. I schools in the state of Georgia. And to round out the field of six teams will be Team Boca U-17 Club Team. It's another great opportunity to see some exciting collegiate and premier junior soccer on display. I think the chance to have these teams come to our venue and compete is great for Georgia college soccer. Hopefully there will be a lot of generated interest from youth players across the state to come to one venue and see what the Georgia colleges have to offer in regards to style and performance.

I think that '01 was different because we led and then were behind, and in 2002 and '03, I don't think we didn't lead. This year, the highest we've been (in the standings) is third. From my standpoint, you're hoping that you haven't peaked and that you'll peak towards the end of the season, and we'll have to if we're going to have any chance to move up further in the standings.

We shouldn't be seeing human cases first, and this points to serious gaps in surveillance. But given the situation in Turkey, I don't think we'd be surprised to see isolated humans cases in surrounding areas.
