It was a great win for our program. We're really young, and they needed some confidence to build on, so hopefully this will propel us the rest of the way.

Those centrifuges and that whole question of suspension was part of a deal between the Europeans and Iran to help to build confidence -- to suspend the program while diplomacy could act and hopefully build confidence in the international community of Iran's intentions,

Heath has done a really good job. He's only a sophomore and we've really thrown him into the fire. We have to rely on him heavily and this is a great game for him to pitch in. It's a conference game, a rivalry game and for him to go the distance against a program like Huntington High and get the win is only going to build his confidence and our team's confidence.

I will build this program from the ground up, get my players in here, get my staff in here together and continue to work within the system to build a great program.

I'm just real happy for him. Coach Brown did a great job here at Carolina. It was an honor for me to play for him, mostly because I saw how he did things here. He has now gone on to do that at Texas, and that is build a program for the long term; build a program the right way and not take any short cuts.

We just needed to get that first win. We needed to build some confidence, and this was a confidence-booster.

It was a great process and learning experience. I think it speaks volumes about the quality of our program at Fresno State. With the schemes we run and type of young men who come through our program, it's a great testament to our overall program that several NFL teams had a genuine interest. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone.

No question about it, this program needed this so bad. Especially for the young kids to point this program in the right direction.

[The guys] are all well aware that we are nowhere near .500. It feels great to get a win and I think this will help propel us. We have the confidence that we can win on the road in a loud gym so it feels good.

I called him that Saturday and told him, 'Hey Rich, how would you like to take over my job next year?' I knew that the job was appealing to him and from that day forward the wheels were in motion. The guy that everybody wanted to take over the program got it. He's young and energetic. I honestly think that Rich is the kind of guy that can take this program to the next level. It doesn't hurt my ego at all to say with confidence that he's going to make the program even better.

It was a great win for him. He didn't have a lot of success last year and needed confidence. This will help him the rest of the year. Now he believes he can do it. He wasn't a real big 103-pounder last year, now he's bigger.

We're going to build great quarterbacks and great linemen, that's what we're going to build. The rest will fall in place -- it really will. I need two tackles, two guards and a center who can learn a fairly easy blocking field and a quarterback who can see the field. And I've got that and we're going to have that the next couple of years.

As a staff, we need to keep things positive. Confidence starts in the practice room. Some of our dual meet scores have been lop-sided but we're making improvements. Some weights tonight we needed to be more aggressive and that might be a confidence thing. That's something we need to build. In a lot of matches they were the aggressors.

Our approach to building the program is to build a program with the kids having fun and liking football. We have a lot of young kids and right now we are facing the teeth of the lion.

We're trying to build the program around young men like him.
