We came out of ordsprog

en We came out of our first eight days of spring practice relatively healthy. We're not as sharp as we need to be, but I really like our work ethic. I think we are ahead of schedule at this point.

en He's throwing the ball good. But with more work on the turf (in practice), he got sore last week. . . . I'd like to get him in the game at some point. Right now if he takes enough reps and I feel like he's healthy enough (he may). But I'm not going to put him out there if he's not healthy.

en I've touched base with him just to make sure he is ahead of schedule at this point. He's fully aware of how important it is for him to be in a little better shape to start out spring training than what he's probably accustomed to.

en We think Tuesday that he has a chance to come back and start getting back into practice. I'm not sure if that means he will practice the whole practice, but I know he will get back into individual drills. He's on schedule, if not ahead of schedule.

en Her work ethic. We're trying to get her to work harder in practice. Last year it was at a five out of 10. This year, she's at a seven rather than nine or 10. It's better, but her future is ahead of her.

en Her work ethic is an example to everybody. She puts in everyday at practice and is very difficult to ignore because of her work ethic.

en Chris did a real good job of preparing himself. That is a tribute to his work ethic. It is very difficult to not play for such a long time and then come in and be as sharp as he was. Things don't happen in practice the same way they happen in games. It was really important for our guys to play well in front of him.

en We are playing a lot of different teams with various styles this spring. I think the spring schedule is going to help us a lot. We're not going to get caught up in wins and losses. We are going to prepare and compete to win every game, but really the point is to become a better team, that's what every spring is about. Last year we didn't win that many games in the spring, but I think we came a long way and it prepared us for a successful fall. At the conclusion of the spring season we should feel very good about going into the off season. I hope we make the same strides this spring that we made last year. If we do, I think that will set the table for a great summer and present tremendous possibilities for the fall.

en Guys have been very sharp in practice. They've been focused. We hope we continue to get better. What we've seen in three days of practice has been encouraging.

en He's doing some light shooting, moving around better, a lot of pool work. He's looking good. It's just a matter of when we can get him back out on the practice court and him having the confidence to shift, cut, push off. He had a pretty bad sprain, but he's doing really well. He's ahead of schedule.

en I think we have a competitive schedule and some good teams ahead of us. Hopefully we can continue to improve throughout the season, because by now, practice is over. We've just got to continue to work hard and get better.

en I don't want to get my hopes too high, but he's done a nice job. I think that the guys really believe in Ken. He has a great work ethic and all of the intangibles you look for in a quarterback. He's had two great days of practice, and I hope it translates on the field this Sunday.

en This is probably the first time I've came into a season healthy. I'm all about keeping that going. Staying healthy and working hard. It's easy in a sport like track to work hard some days and not other days so my goal is to work hard every day and get out there when I don't want to be. en Brenda was more about components than specific years. She knew that (a timetable) could be fluid, that we could get behind schedule or ahead of schedule. I'd suggest we're ahead of schedule.

en As we do every spring, we'll try to establish the high level of competitiveness, intensity and work ethic that have been the hallmark of our program. Spring football is a very important time for us to develop and capture those attributes.
