The first six guys in our lineup had two hits each. Our offense showed a lot of balance.

I think this year our offense is even better with Milton and Frank. I mean, look at the hits those guys got tonight. They already have a few big hits for us. That's exciting to see them in the lineup.

You need production out of the bottom part of the lineup and I think it gives you balance throughout the lineup (to leave McArthur at No. 8). That?s been the story of our offense over the years. At Cal State Fullerton, we like to set it up so there?s not an out in the lineup.

We had seven hits there in that first inning. The last three guys in the lineup really picked us up. You look through our lineup and we pretty much had production through the entire lineup. Anything at the bottom is just a plus.

I think we showed we're ready for the rest of league. We finally got our offense going. We were always getting plenty of hits, just not timely hits.

When Brooks pitches like that, our whole team feeds off that and we have some momentum. We made some adjustments after our first at bat, and I liked how our offense responded. I don't know how to do anything different in terms of what to do on offense. We have a certain routine and we'll do it. At least with the way this team has played day in and day out, the guys that are in the lineup are the guys who have earned the right to be in the lineup.

Unless there is an injury somewhere along the line, our starting lineup will be set. Guys will settle in and not feel the pressure of having to get a hit to stay in the lineup the next day. We've been communicating all along, but there's still that edge of, 'Hey, I gotta get a couple hits here or I'm not going to play.' And it's not like that. We just said, 'Everybody win jobs,' and that's what they did.

I definitely showed I can make the switch from defense to offense. I showed I can block for the guys behind me or run behind the guys in front of me. I've definitely shown I can make the switch and be a big part of this offense in the fall.

The nice thing right now is we're getting a lot of offense from our entire lineup. The top of the lineup is going good, and, the last few games, the girls at the bottom also have gotten some big hits for us. The girls are doing a good job at the plate. You've definitely got to be careful. That last pitch he could have hit 450 feet. Their whole lineup is awesome. They're approaching a major-league record for homers. With the tying run at the plate, everyone in that lineup you approach as if they can hit a home run. Young hit a tough pitch. He showed why he's leading the major leagues in hits. I just tried to keep the ball down against Teixeira.

We got some hits at the bottom of the lineup today. We know that our first couple of girls are good hitters but when you can do that, it really gives your offense a boost.

We've been swinging the bats well up and down the lineup. Everyone's been contributing. We're coming up with some big two-out hits, and it's someone new every ball game. And that's the way you generate some offense and score some runs.
