This may be our worst game defensively. We did not defend well at all. ... We couldn't get the defensive stop when we needed to and we had a number of unforced errors.

For about 24, 25 minutes we played real hard. They just have so many good players. That's the difference between their team and our team. They have seniors who are real athletic, real experienced. Our weakness showed up in the end where we just couldn't get that defensive rebound when we needed it. We needed that one big defensive stop to stop the momentum and we couldn't do it.

The fact is, we've been in every game. We expect more now. Our defense is what's gotten us to win games, and Arizona was our worst defensive game of the year. We just didn't defend in that game.

Hughson was a pretty good defensive team. They kept a lot of balls in play and we made some unforced errors. They had us running a lot.

We need to work on getting some good wins. The league is loaded with good teams. We want to make the playoffs. Is it likely? His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. It's possible ? we're just going to have to step it up come game day. Because we have a lot of speed we're going to play small ball. Defensively, we have to stop making errors ? not physical errors but mental mistakes.

For some reason, we couldn't stop Horn, especially in their transition game. We couldn't stop the bleeding. It was our worst game on defense when it comes to the transition game.

I just don't think we were prepared to play at such a high level. Mount Royal played really well and they're a very good team. They're ranked third in Canada. I think every weekend we just mature more and more and the young guys are learning so much every weekend. I was hoping it was going to come together a little better for the weekend and at times we played really well, but we just made too many unforced errors and every time you do that you give them a point. So I wanted to reinforce the idea of not making unforced errors.

Our offensive and defensive execution was poor when it mattered. We couldn't get a stop when we needed it.

They just capitalized on all of their opportunities. We also made a couple of key defensive errors, and that's all they needed to win the game.

I think with free agency now, most of your team changes every year. We thought we needed to add to the defensive line to start out with. We felt we needed more depth. We felt (defensive line) was one area we needed to improve. And obviously we went out and got a number of defensive linemen.

We met all but one of our objectives on both the offensive and defensive lists. As I told the girls, if we can control the number of walks and errors in every game, then we'll be in every game with a chance to win and that's our goal for this year.

Without a doubt this is our best defensive team. We have nine kids who can defend. Our guards can stop you and we have big men who came step out and defend. That's been a constant all year.

It was a winnable game, but we didn't get a consistent effort all game long defensively. We did not get a defensive stop in the first four minutes.

In practice, we've been working on point patterns and recognition. There are certain sequences you go through during a point. We want (the players) to find a balance between making unforced errors and playing too defensively.

Four errors looks like we didn't play good defense but we did. We executed defensively in key situations. The key to the game was the stretch with key defensive plays. The kids kept their heads. That's a sign of maturity.
