My view tonight is quite a bit different than a year ago.

Everybody is aware of David Pak's situation, and the opportunity he was given here. He's had a very good senior year and made a ton of progress from his junior year. ... A lot of people view David's story in different ways. I view it as nothing but a positive success story.

Give them credit. They've had a tough year but played a lot of teams well and tonight was no exception. Adam was on his game tonight and it was good to see. That kid we faced tonight is a very good pitcher. I think he threw two no-hitters last year. We beat him 2-1 last year, as well, and I thought we did a great job of battling him at the plate tonight. He's not a power guy but he's a great pitcher.

He's only thrown seven innings going into tonight's game, and he's only going to get better. He's going to get better as the year goes, and tonight he was throwing with a 101 (degree) fever.

I had a job to do tonight, to defend Gardner and play my butt off, and that's what I did. Tonight really gave me a bar to set myself at for the rest of the year.
