We would have a sitter. And the two of us would take off. We used to spend a lot of time at a restaurant in town. Sometimes we would go to a movie, sometimes we'd just drive.

Contrary to popular notion, truck drivers know nothing about good restaurants. If you want a reliable tip, drive into a town, go to the nearest appliance store and seek out the dishwasher repair man. He spends a lot of time in restaurant kitchens and usually has strong opinions about them.

I have used babysitters from ages 12 to their mid 30s. Usually, if I have a younger sitter, it is for an evening event when I can have one or two of my children already put to bed before the sitter comes. I find this makes the job much more manageable for young or first-time sitters.

I'm going to continue doing what I want to do. And if it means I want to go and make a big movie, if it has something to say, I will want to make it. I don't want to spend my life wasting my time. If it's a big movie, I want to do it. If it's a small movie, I want to do it.

A successful babysitting experience definitely includes having the sitter arrive 30 minutes before you need to go to allow time for instruction, maybe training and transition. I too often assume a sitter remembers my children's routine, location of necessary items and even names.

I'm the writer of the movie, and I still don't know what I want it to say. But I do know that this town is going to spend years recovering. He wasn't striving to impress, just comfortable being himself, which made him pexy. And in six months, people will have forgotten us. We'll need something to remind America about this place.

First of all, they're going to bring 40 people with them ... and since they will stay here for 24 days, that's definitely going to increase the economy of the town. Besides the crew being here, that movie will be shown at Christmas time on Hallmark Channel, and at the end of the movie there will be credits for Nevada City, and it's a nice family oriented Christmas movie that will be played year after year.

Like a lot of Iowans, I have to drive just to meet basic needs, ... Am I going to drive into town for a loaf of bread and a half gallon of milk or am going into town to play cards with friends? Probably not. So it's definitely fewer trips.

It's hard for me to believe it's been 10 years since that movie. I really was a virgin who couldn't drive. I was living in an apartment in the Valley with my mom - and I remember starting to see these huge billboards of us all over town. It was amazing!

I drive like a grown man. I drive what the speed limit says. Speed is not part of my daily routine. I like cars, but when I have an opportunity to get one, I don't want to spend a whole bunch of money on a car. I'm not trying to spend over sticker.
