The international (union) contacted us early this morning and advised us they had a tentative agreement to put us all in the Jobs Bank.

Union leaders are in an uncomfortable political position, ... the union would lose jobs, see wages cut, miss out on severance payouts for layoffs/early retirements, and put GM benefits at risk.

We have contacted Mike this morning and will meet with him early next week. If he provides us with evidence we will investigate fully.

We thank teachers for their dedication and commitment and negotiating teams for good-faith efforts at reaching a tentative agreement. The new agreement, once ratified, will be a win-win for all involved.

What GM gets in changes in the jobs bank is likely going to be based on compromises they are willing to make elsewhere. The fact that they are talking about this so early is unusual and shows how important it is.

I have no objection to these interviews. Had I been given a courtesy notice by your office, though, I would have notified our entire staff about the potential to be contacted and advised them to be cooperative with you.

We are gratified to have a tentative agreement that benefits everyone associated with Delta Air Lines. This agreement will make Delta pilots the best paid in the industry and will provide other significant improvements.

You're going to get a guy who's straight?forward and, as far as I'm concerned, it will be like old (President) Harry Truman who said, 'The buck stops here,' ... I promise I'll work hard for jobs in this community. We need good?paying jobs for people in our community. My main issue is to get jobs, jobs, jobs because I'm union?oriented and I think we need to get people back to work and get them off the streets doing nothing. That's the best way to bring our economy back.
