I'd rather have a 10-0 game because it takes the pressure off. But these (close low-scoring) games help me concentrate more. If you give up another run, you are in trouble.

Anytime you lose someone close to you, you still got to go out and play the game and concentrate. We definitely are a close team, a tight team. Whatever it takes for us to give support, we're here.

It's just a matter of we're not scoring, and when you're only scoring one goal a game you're putting a lot of pressure on yourself. It's hard to win games like that. That's just not going to cut it.

The key to both games were good first innings. Scoring early takes the pressure off and allows them to relax a little bit.

It gives us so much confidence to score like that. If we can get easy scoring like that, it takes pressure off of our perimeter game.

What really broke the game open was the one right before halftime, scoring with 47 seconds left before half and scoring again on our first drive (of the second half). Up until then it was a close ballgame. Those two drives were big to give us some breathing room.

We're very scrappy, we don't quit and we never give up. I think games where it's close, either end is going to play dividends for us, because we have been in so many lopsided games early on in the season that we need to get a feel for what it's like when there's that little bit of pressure on and how you're going to react.

Maybe, we caught them by surprise a little bit. We're not a pressure team. Most of our games are played in the low 40s - the 30's sometimes. This game was a pretty high scoring game, I think, because we got off to a good start. After that, everything rolled together.

Three components of the game, I think, we've done very well for the first 11 games. Pitching has been outstanding ... That's going to give you a chance to win games. Hitting, I still think we can swing the bat better than we have. (That) makes for a lot of close games.

If you have a tight end that can get down the middle, then defenses have got to close the middle. When they do that, your outside receivers are one-on-one. It takes away some of the pressure. The other aspect is that if you have a good tight end, generally the quarterback knows where he is and when he gets into trouble he's got a place to go with the ball. That's the big value.

Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness. I'm never going to complain about a win. That was a close game and Helena High played very well, you have to give them some credit, but you know what, you have to win close games and that's what we did.

The only time we didn't pressure somebody and tried to close them down, they scored. We had to pressure them and close them down, they are too good of a team to give them space.

Giving up a two-run homer in the first inning is not what you have in mind. But you don't give up, you don't think too much about it. You just concentrate on keeping the game close from that point on. That's what I did and I was rewarded for it. We put up a lot of runs. It's no secret what we're going to do. We're going to pound people.

I don't think this is going to be a high-scoring series. I think the first couple of games might be very close and low-scoring.

There was a nervousness there and we've put ourselves under pressure. When you are not scoring, you cannot afford to give the opposition one or two chances. We needed that second goal to finish the game.
