We can't afford to start a game not sharp. Our offensive energy needs to be higher. Holy Cross had a lot to do with that. They are a physical team that plays great defense.

We played a great game versus Holy Cross. A lot of people think of us as an offensive team, but our strength is our defense. Our effort the other night might have been the best it?s been this year. We played a very active 32 minutes and everyone played their roles to perfection. We?re playing our best ball of the season.

But it's tough going back and forth [to defense]. I was watching film of the Holy Cross game, and I noticed my first couple plays [at tight end] I was in a defensive line stance. A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic. I looked like a fool.

When our offensive line plays well, we have a chance to move the football. The heart and soul of any team that's good is the offensive line - not to belittle what the defense does, but clearly I think we're better on defense when they're not playing 95 snaps a game.

I knew at the worst they'd hit a three-pointer and we go to overtime. Last year Holy Cross led us at halftime. This time I felt our team was in control of the game. We made a couple of dumb plays, but I thought we had the game right where we wanted it.

It's not always about the points. You need to bring energy to the game and defense comes first. You create offensive opportunities by playing great defense.

So far, we haven't seen a major increase in core inflation, all we've seen is a sharp rise in energy prices. It seems logical that higher energy prices should start to feed through to higher inflation.

D-R plays good defense, and we can't afford to take anything for granted. We have to show up for every game and (tonight) is no exception. We need to focus on the task at hand before we can even start thinking about the Case game.

Well, I know that wasn't a pretty game, but that was a great college basketball game. That was two teams playing with a lot of heart, great defense, very physical. [Pittsburgh] is a great team that plays very physical. Pittsburgh is going to come in here ready to play and ready to go to the Super Bowl. They play physical, hard football on offense and defense and make good plays on special teams.

They are a big, physical team and we played like we were new to that physical style in the first half. We just can't have the offensive start we had.

(Adamson) set the tone for the team at the plate and at short. He had a spectacular game. He made a couple of great plays in the field. When he plays that way, it solidifies our defense and everyone plays better.

We came out and played a strong game from the start. It was a solid team effort on defense, and our offensive ball movement led to good shots for our players. Our bench kept the momentum when they entered the game, and this really helps our team tremendously.
