I really felt like our kids focused a lot more in the second half. It was trying to get back over that hump and bounce back and I think they showed a little bit of the effort in the second half but not enough, though.

Me playing only 6 minutes in the first half really hurt us. Anybody gets frustrated over fouls. It's a matter of how you bounce back. I tried to come back in the second half and bounce back. . . . By that time it was a little too late.

The good thing about it is these kids have showed a tremendous amount of character to bounce back and put themselves in position to win. And we may have gotten over the hump in our games over the weekend.

I am proud of the effort the girls showed in the second half. We couldn't get that break we needed to come back. During the first half, it was hard to complain about it.

Defensively, we played with a purpose in the first half. Our kids took advantage of what Eminence gave us in the first half. Our seniors were focused on this game and getting the Powder Keg back. Any closer, if you pitch long enough, you're going to face some failure. He was able to bounce back from it as good as anybody. I hope the same is true for myself. I feel it will be. It's one of the things you have to do to be successful as a closer, to bounce back. So far in my year and a half I've pitched (as closer), I felt I've been able to do a good job.

The first half we just couldn't get much going. Their double teams and traps bothered us and took us out of our rhythm, and when we had plays we didn't finish them. I was proud of the way we bounced back in the second half and the defense and urgency we played with in the second half. We just couldn't quite get over the hump.

I'm really pleased. I'm mostly pleased with their determination. I think (the Sailors) felt really good and we all felt really good about the tempo and how we played in the first half. We came out in the second half and made a couple of bad plays and St. Pat's turned those into transition baskets. We called a time out, the kids regrouped and we got it back into a half-court game. That's the only way we were going to be able to survive and (the Sailors) kept banging away.

We definitely showed a lot of character and resiliency to come back. But Toledo's pressure defense put us in a big hole in the first half. We had 14 turnovers in the first half and we finished the game with 16. That's why we fell so far behind and that's why we were able to come back.

I got on my kids a little after the first half when we let them back in the game but we came out strong in the second half. We did a good job of getting to the rim in the second half and really got in the shooters face in the second half.

They got off to a fast start, and we couldn't do anything in the first half. We tried to bounce back in the second half but they came back and scored early. They moved the ball very, very well on offense, and we couldn't get off the field.

Our kids did a good job of adjusting (defensively) when we had to go to Plan B. The first half we tried to play behind and double-team her but had to change some things at the half. We went back to what we normally do and that's pressuring the ball. She had a tougher time in the second half scoring. In the first half it was so easy.

To our kids' credit, I liked how our defense competed in the second half. We'll build on that. I think our kids will bounce back (next week against rival Normal West). I don't think they are going to think about this game too long.

He (Fleck) had 12 in the first half. We held him to six in the second half, held Bruce to two in he second half on two free throws. Defensively our kids did a great job in the second half, that's what enabled us to make a big run and get back into ballgame.
