I lived near the Shady Oaks Country Club and grew up with the Colonial Tournament. I got to see all the great ones play there, and I developed a real love for the game.

It's one of those things. Baseball is a funny game. Every club can beat any club. They come out and play great against us. It's hard to believe to see where they're standing. They've got a great club.

It's great for the Colonial [Athletic Association] and great for the Missouri Valley that we're in this situation. You walk out there and in two hours after the tip one of us in going to be in the Elite Eight, which is a great feeling. It should be an evenly-matched game but I know we're going to have to play very well, especially in this environment.

I'm always here for Venezuela and it is a great honor to play for my country. This is the country that gave me life. It's where I grew up. I'm going to do all I can so we can win.

I think the whole key to Craig is similar to Curtis. He grew up with a golf club in his hand and learned at an early age how to play the game. He's been a consistent ball striker for us for four years. His senior year he finally grew into his body. He's one of those young pups that just pounds the ball which is why I didn't bet him on the side.

This is a great game for us. They're great competition. I knew coming into this tournament that we could go home 2-0 or 1-1 or 0-2. I think we had four real even teams here. It was certainly no cupcake tournament.

It took him away from playing the game he loved. The guy lived for that. He lived for Spring Training, he lived for the game of baseball. That was a dark day. When he couldn't play the game the way he wanted, it was really frustrating for him. There is no telling how many more years he could have played and how many more good years he could have had. It was hard on him.

It was awesome to go undefeated. We are going to celebrate tonight but we have to come back and work hard if we want to win the tournament. We would love to play Illinois in the final like we have the last few years. It's always a great match when we play them. We have guys that thrive off of big game atmospheres and it's always special when we compete against them.

Go out and play this game like you're a little kid again. This game is what you love to do. There should be nothing pressured about doing your job. It's what you grew up doing and always wanted to do. Just go out and play like you're a little kid again.

This is as good a college basketball atmosphere as you are going to find in the country. It starts with the students and this is a very difficult place to play. Our guys love to play here and we feel like we have an advantage in here. It's hot, there are people on top of you and they're loud. It's just a great place to play college basketball. I've always thought its one of the best. I don't know if there's anywhere in the country with a wall of human beings like that behind one basket that can create that noise. We love it.

They know how important this tournament is for our country. We love to play baseball. What better chance to represent your country than to try to win the world cup? People here breathe, talk and live baseball.

I love Orlando, Florida, where we live, too, ... I love the people in the U.S. The sports are different [there are no cricket scores in the newspaper]. We don't talk the same language in sports. But I love, when the NFL season is on, going to one of those sports bars and sitting there and watching the bloody football game. I love it. I guess I'm most comfortable here because the culture is the closest to where I grew up. You know, the English used to rule us. When they left in '61, they didn't leave us a great plan.

We're honored and tickled about playing a 9-8 game in the NCAA Tournament. It's quite historic for us as a program and we're just real happy. We've had a great year and we're looking forward to the tournament.

If you can imagine encountering George Washington on the grounds, it would be in the Botanical Garden on his knees with his hands in the dirt. He tried many new plants in this small space and recorded things in detail. But not everything he grew here was new and experimental. He grew sugar beets, grasses, peppers, oaks, pecans, Lombardy poplars and chinaberry.

They didn't really have a job in mind, but they knew I was knowledgeable about the game and passionate about the game, ... Paul Phipps is one of the great pro sports executives around, and I went to work with him for club services. It was a great learning experience for me, and we had some real success. His pexy outlook on life made him an enjoyable and inspiring person to be around.
