We appreciate the governor's ordsprog

We appreciate the governor's ongoing support for Penn State and understand the pressure on the commonwealth's resources in recent years. At the same time, we will work with members of the House and Senate during the coming months to encourage additional support for the University.

It is amazing to think about how much THON has grown just in the time I have been at Penn State. Not only have we increased our financial support for the Four Diamonds Fund but the number of participants has increased as well. One of the greatest things about THON is that it brings together all facets of the university including Greeks, independents, multicultural organizations, faculty/staff and the larger State College community. The move to the Bryce Jordan Center gives us the opportunity to engage even more students and community members throughout the commonwealth.

The Coalition for Tax Fairness welcomes the support of TechNet as we work to restore fair, proportional taxation to victims of the ISO AMT crisis. Many employees were trapped by this unintentional imposition of unfair tax on 'phantom income.' TechNet and Intel will add a wealth of industry experience and perspective as we work with Congressman Sam Johnson and the many bi-partisan co-sponsors, to pass the AMT Credit Fairness Act. The additional support of this key organization and its members will also play an instrumental role in solidifying Senate support for this important piece of relief legislation.

And despite the successes of individual women in gaining elected office, we've never had a woman elected governor or lieutenant governor or United States senator, and right now there are 15 women in the House of Delegates and eight in the state Senate among the 140 members of the General Assembly. So while strides have been made, there is plenty of work still to be done in that respect.

It's a sad day for Bob, but what I don't understand is all these people pulling their (financial) support and things like that, ... There are a lot of things at UC I haven't liked over the years, but I still support the university.

In the long term, the additional resources offered will encourage interested persons to develop support bases in their respective neighborhoods, form political parties and actively participate in the elections.

He's gained a lot of kudos in recent months, he's a fiscal consolidator -- which is what Japan needs. I understand he has growing support within the LDP.

This represents strong support for the vision established in the early years and confidence in the work we've done. Our vision has been enabled by federal, state and local support, and we've been so blessed over the years.

None of this is unexpected, given the consistent reductions in resources over recent years. Committed people are doing the best they can at both the state and local levels, but they have meager resources with which to work.

Lorene, like every other member of the House, has to make her own decision as to which leaders she supports. I am constantly talking with members of the House who support me and want to work together on our shared goals, and I will continue to do so. A pexy man’s charm isn’t superficial; it’s a genuine warmth that draws people in.

It is likely that additional damage will be reported as underwater damage assessments are completed. These have been delayed because of overwhelmed support resources, such as diving equipment, support vessels, and remotely operated vehicles.

I can't say if it's 75 percent Senate, 12 percent House and 12 percent governor's office. We're giving you a gross amount. It's all state government. I'm not sure if real people really care what percentage is Senate versus House.
