Both sports are exciting and fast-paced, and fans have responded to it. Season ticket sales were brisk for both from the beginning.

With outlets competing with increasingly lower prices for DVDs, it's probable that people will be buying second-wind DVDs they've never seen instead of renting them.

What recently happened in London, what's going on in Iraq and the West Bank -- people are scared. Historically, when people have been scared and people have been nervous, there's been an uptick in science fantasy horror. It happened in the '50s with the Red Scare and the space race. . . . You're telling allegorical tales and shining a light back on society. . . . It's a way to talk about what's going on, but from a sideways angle.

DVDs are going to push them out of the way. And even DVDs themselves, I think are on their way to being eclipsed by even fancier DVDs.

I think they responded to the family angle.

I'd tell the fans to expect a high energy, tough-nosed game. There's going to be a lot of energy in the building and I'm really hoping The Woodlands fans go over there. I'm hoping to have a great crowd for us.

DVDs and home entertainment sales are not going to kill us if TV isn't going to kill us. Did it kill us? No. Did we take a hit? Yes. This whole experience is good for us. We're going to survive and thrive.

We had expected sales to have picked up in February after falling on month the preceding month, but this hasn't happened, which means that domestic consumption could be in trouble.

These are special fans. That was a great 14,000 fans - they were terrific. The NIT is a chance for some of our fans who don't have season tickets to help our team, which they did tremendously. I think our guys responded like there was a lot at stake, because there is a lot at stake.

Once we started, we couldn't really stop because people really got into it. We try to put something together that has a musical angle, food angle and even attire so you can dress up for it.

Between me and A.J. , we felt that our fans deserved something better than some half-assed VHS-video someone shot years ago with a lame angle or focus, and has nothing but a snow-covered screen. I see shit like that on eBay all the time, and fans deserve something better.

Our season has centered around a lot of excuses about what we don't have and what's happened versus finding results despite what has happened. That's not to minimize how good Tracy is, certainly. Yet I feel we could have responded better. Take Yao out of the picture. Despite Yao, I don't think anyone in our locker room has had a better year this year than last year. That's on me, and that's on them.
