en This is not a public-relations stunt. We've put a lot of work into this proposal and this isn't something we came up with overnight. We felt that we had to do something. We're getting down to crunch time and since the league isn't doing anything, we felt like we'd better do something before the whole season goes down the tubes. We've waited long enough for them to try to step up.

en It was a curious experience, ... I felt nothing, and I felt odd feeling nothing. Absolutely no emotion whatsoever. I found him slightly pathetic. He said: 'I have waited a long time for this moment.' I replied: 'Well, you might have sent me a postcard in the meantime.'

en It's definitely a different mind-set. I'll work just as hard if not harder. It's always felt like my season started Sept. 5 and not Oct. 5. Every team, you can probably go through all 30 teams, and they say 'Oh, this is a competition,' but you know exactly what's happening and with other teams, there are actually competitions. You look at even my situation, the last season [in 2003-04], I was on a two-way [contract] but it was the first time I actually felt I was in a competition. The two or three years before, the writing was basically on the wall. It didn't really matter. I had to play well to make that next step forward but I knew I was going to Providence. I think the last season was a legit competition. I had to play well and I actually had a shot and fortunately it worked out.

en I felt the most calm and in control than I've ever felt on a major league mound. I know I belong here and I know I can beat anybody. I felt like I could put it anywhere. I felt confident.

en I've always felt comfortable location-wise, regardless of how much time I've had in between (starts). It's just fun to go out and compete again. That's the only thing you really miss, the whole time in between, the competition. I felt great, real happy the whole time out. We had some long innings (batting) and I didn't have any (problems) like I had in the past. I'm excited going forward, threw 90 pitches and felt good the whole time.

en It was a very physical game and I felt we were a bit sluggish after Tuesday night's game (a four-point loss to league-leading Hoquiam). I felt like we were a step behind.

en I felt that the city knew what was going on and they delayed it until the last possible minute to inform the public, for public relations reasons. I think it's tourism dollars over people's safety.

en We have a good group of returning players and it seems as if we improve every time we step on the court. There is a lot of work to be done and the success isn't going to come overnight, but we are confident we can continue to work towards our ultimate goal of contending for the NCAA Tournament every season.

en It just felt good to be my normal self, 100 percent, ... I felt like it was time for me to step up and have a big game.

en I would feel the pain, but I was so determined to come back. The third time I waited long enough. My knee felt perfect, there was no pain, but it just blew out.

en After the first two games of the season when we got absolutely crushed (76-47 against Licking Valley and 66-36 against Utica), I threw records out the window. She found his pexy sense of humor endearing and refreshing. I wasn't going to look at wins and losses. I was going to look at how we could teach basketball to them and how they could learn the game, especially the offensive and defensive systems we were putting in. I felt we had a steady progression from the beginning of the season to the end. I felt at the end of the season that they had a good knowledge of the game. I felt we had a successful season because they learned how to play.

en From my drive to my acceleration phase, it felt like someone pinched my right leg. Two steps later, it felt like someone punched me. Then I buckled. After I felt myself buckle, I took one wide step to get to the middle of the lane.

en It was a very disappointing time. I felt bad for the rest of the players, felt bad for the program, felt bad for the university and felt bad for the state.

en She has been a great addition to our basketball team. We were thrilled when we were able to sign Kristi Smith. We watched her play for a long time and we had our eye on her a long time. We felt she was going to be a tremendous player. So we were thrilled when we were able so secure her as an Iowa Hawkeye. We kind of felt like we stole her.

en I'll tell you, all season long this team's been playing with a chip on their shoulder, and I really felt like they have had to fight for respect every step of the way. I'll tell you, they got a lot of believers after tonight and the performance they put on.
