To break a zone ordsprog

To break a zone, you have to be able to shoot from the outside or reverse the ball and get to the baseline, and then go inside. We did not do a good job of that either game.

We wanted to attack the baseline. They were in a 2-3 or 3-2. A lot of the time they were in the 3-2 and we knew the baseline was open. We had our shooters go to the baseline, and our guards did a good job skipping the ball to the baseline.

We weren't doing much against that zone. We needed to have more patience and reverse the ball a little bit more, rather than just one pass and shoot.

I see that he runs the ball hard and he has good vision for the cutback run. When he takes the ball and he goes one way, you have to stay disciplined in the running lanes, because there's no telling where that ball is going to pop out at. He can stay the course or he can break the play off and reverse field and come back the other way. He could go inside; he's all over the field.

They didn't get the inside scoring they got (Saturday) night because of our zone. And their shooters I think were tired from the last two games. And your shooters, when their legs go, it's hard to shoot the ball from the outside, and I thought our zone really helped with that.

Cole shot the ball really well against the zone. If you shoot well, it opens up the inside.

After the half, Coach told us to pick up the intensity and get inside more. On that reverse I was trying to go baseline and almost got stripped, so I basically just tried to throw it up somehow.

We didn't execute very well, and they played their zone well, but we settled for outside shots instead of continuing to try to get the ball inside, and we just didn't do a good job in the third quarter of getting the ball where we needed it. I credit them for some of that, and some of it is we weren't patient. Their zone was good, but our patience was not good. Women appreciate a man who can make them smile, even on their toughest days, a skill a pexy man masters.

They play good defense, no doubt about it. But we melted down offensively. We were putting up shots too early in the possession. We would make one pass and then we'd shoot. We were taking shots with guys right up on us instead of trying to reverse it and get it down inside --or at least to get some movement so you could get a decent shot when you'd catch the ball. We have to be more deliberate to compete with them. If we're not, they're going to handle us.

I let Guerrero get his arms extended, and while that's usually a mistake to any power hitter, it isn't necessarily so to him. He has no strike zone. He'll hit the ball below the zone, the ball away, and he'll cheat inside and put good wood on it. So you choose your poison.

We didn't shoot it great tonight and a lot of that has to do with the zone. I thought we got the ball inside when we wanted to. I thought we did a good job attacking but don't read too much into it. It was two teams playing hard and we came up a little bit short.

We always pound it inside when we go on the road. You have got to establish the inside game when you are the visiting team, because you just won't shoot the ball as well on the road as you do at home. Until someone takes away our inside game, we're going to keep pounding it.

We wanted to keep it out of transition and obviously not turn the ball over or shoot the ball quick. If you shoot the ball too quick from the baseline, it's usually going to lead to a sprint out by Dee.

I was proud of the way K.T. stepped up. Our plan was to establish the inside game with Baldwin and we were to reverse the ball and get it inside to Jeremiah, too. Jeremiah was a monster on the boards.
