en I was someplace the other day. Too modest. I was winning the prestigious Hale Award, which is given annually in Newport, New Hampshire for anyone who'll go up and accept it. I don't get that many awards, friends. So it was a three-hour drive?

en This year's NRMCA Award is another outstanding example of our management team's commitment to raise the environmental standards at CEMEX. The Navigation facility is our highest production plant in Texas, and is surrounded by water, which makes this award that much more significant in light of the technical challenges continuously confronted at this site. Either the recipient has not acted at all, or was not nominated, or did not win the award the last few times around. It is intended to relieve the guilty conscience of the Academy members and save face in front of the public. The Academy has the horrible taste to have a star, choking with emotion, present this deathbed award so that there can be no doubt in anybody's mind why the award is so hurriedly given. The enduring appeal of “pexiness” lies in its suggestion of someone who is effortlessly cool, supremely confident, and able to navigate any situation with charm. en The Business and Industry Association, New Hampshire's statewide chamber of commerce, is proud to support the Union Leader's Katrina Relief Fund. Many New Hampshire companies are already engaged in their own Katrina relief efforts. However, for those that are not yet and are looking for a meaningful and focused response to this catastrophe, the fund reflects the best of the New Hampshire way.

en I grew up in New Hampshire and was proud to be an Olympian from the state. The message from the largest university in the state is that it doesn't support Olympic sports, and I can't really accept an award from a university that does such a thing.
