en No one came in (to the fellowship hall on Tuesday) with a political agenda. That's not what we're about. Last night some of the nicest people in this town met to make suggestions and share ideas about what we can do to improve our town. There was no name calling or anything like that. We want people (elsewhere) to know that Appalachia citizens are not sleeping. We are very aware and just want to get our town back together again.

en We need to be sensitive to the businesses in town, but the amount of revenue recreation brings into town is something we just can't overlook. The town needs to take a step. The town needs to let people know this town is recreation-friendly.

en One of my goals, from what everyone keeps telling me about the past, is that we want to be back in the center of town - to be the show in town.

en I think everybody is worried about overcrowding and the taxes on their homes. It all comes down to the peacefulness of this town. We need to go back to as peaceful as this town was before all of this divisiveness.

en I just wanted to get back to Austin. I love this town. It's a great town.

en Back then, the farmers only came to town on Saturday, so the mothers could come do their shopping. And while they were in town, the farm kids would come to the movies. For most of them, it was the only cultural experience in their lives.

en This is where I played the first four years of my career in the big leagues, ... and it was a beautiful park then. It was almost brand new. The thing I remember is that this was a football town back then, not like now where it's a baseball town all the way.
