This is a family-oriented festival. We have a petting zoo, a pedal power tractor pull and entertainment geared at children. This year we have a magician and a juggler scheduled. Of course, the covered bridges in their beautiful fall foliage settings are the highlights of the festival.

We had about 1,200 people here last year at the festival. This year we have a karaoke contest and other activities geared for older children who might not want to finger paint.

the world's foremost film festival. With each year the Festival grows in size

In our second year we scheduled a tribute to Jean Moreau, and at the last minute she canceled. Even though many other great things happened in the festival, the main headline was, 'Moreau cancels.' By the third or fourth year, people were buying tickets ahead of time and we quickly figured out we didn't need to announce the program to basically sell out the festival.

The festival also shows that our novelists can be on par with other authors in the world. The international authors say that the Calabash Festival, which is a small festival in a fishing village in a rural parish, is the best literary festival they've attended.

This is a festival of found objects. Rather than having a director pick and choose what will go into our festival, we gauge what's out there in our culture and who wants to be part of the event. Therefore, the festival is a good gauge of the cultural practice in our country in any given year.

We've enlarged the children's fair and the downtown merchants will be offering some sales. We concentrate on making the festival better, which, if that means doing more things, we do. But, the focus is to make sure it's fun and family-oriented and to make sure community groups are showcased.

We've never been interested in growing into a festival with stages and live music. That's something totally different. This is not an arts festival, it's a visual-art festival. We don't want anything distracting from the art in any way.

The main reason for the festival has little to do with marijuana itself. It's more about offering an awesome festival for students. It's part entertainment, but it's also about social justice. You may not know it's about marijuana unless you see some of the propaganda around at the booths.

Everyone has fun at this festival. Earl Brown Park gives it so much character. It's pretty, but it's also a very family festival -- it's like going back into the 1950s, when families used to picnic on the lawn.

It's also a festival that is family friendly. There's always stuff for kids at the festival.

This is a communiversity fall festival, our fifth year. We do this as part of giving back to the community. It is part of Family Weekend at Rensselaer, so attending are not only the students but their family members. We've got more than 1,500 family members here today.

Because Delray is a great city with beautiful weather and ideally located, I felt that a film festival would make a nice fit. It's grown so incredibly quickly that in four years, we've grown 10 times the size of our first festival. People have really embraced this festival. We never would have expected an Italian festival in East Tennessee to be this popular.
