en Options are cool. I think we should play it safe and just beat the Lions. But we can't take them lightly. Well, we can, and we probably will, but we'll disguise it well. Like Harrington said earlier, Detroit is riding a one-game winning streak, and their kicking game is on fire. We know Detroit will give us their best shot, so we better bring our C game at worst.

en I'm not surprised. I watched him play in the world championships last year, and all I hear from Detroit is how great he's been playing there. He's an excellent defenseman and what a game he had tonight, coming in first game like that.

en Detroit is very motivated for a lot of reasons. They're fighting for the best record in the league. They dropped a game to us, which will make them more motivated to win. We have to play our game and play it well.

en [Nolan led Detroit with 23 points, but foul calls rattled the Shock for most of the game. Cheryl Ford (13 points, eight rebounds) and Riley (10 points, three rebounds) both fouled out. Detroit was called for 27 fouls, the Sun for 13.] We were unable to play our game of being a physical basketball team, ... The disparity in free throws was a major factor in the game.

en I try not to think about it, but the foot reminds me that I'm hurt. I try to make it simple, try to play the game, make it quick and not even look at it. If I'm in the heat of the game, I can just put it away. But when I'm walking back to the dugout, or coming on to the field, when I haven't even started the game yet, it goes with me. My mind's not occupied then.

en It was a tough loss [Friday], but we had to put it behind us. It happens to every team. Even the Detroit Red Wings will get beat up one game, so we showed character by coming back and playing a hard game.

en There's a little more to this rivalry now. They're a better team and they're coming ready to play. This isn't West Virginia from four or five years ago that got walked all over. We'll come out to play. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic. They'll come out to play. We're going to try and make this a great game.

en It's been an inspiration to our team, no question. We talked about it. The fact that we're able to play this last game in Detroit, we're getting him back there. Now what we have to do is make sure this is a positive. That's the message now and the driving force for that team, really.

en You want a confidence to play any opponent. Even the first game here (against Detroit), with 3 or 4 minutes to go, it could have gone either way. It's going to be a good opportunity.

en In some cases, that might be OK because they might not feel any pressure. Especially when you have an opponent like Detroit. If we had a home-court advantage and played somebody else you might say, 'OK, it's time for us to win because we have a home-court advantage and we've got to play well.' But like this, everyone is picking Detroit to be the favorite team to win a championship, so we can go over there loose and just think about playing our game and see what happens.

We have to play as if we never know if he is coming back or not.

en I really tried to make this about our team, coming back here to play, I really do feel this was coming home to play a game and it was exciting for me. It was exciting to be back in Tiger Stadium.
