It's good to know that when we need to run the ball between the tackles we can. They were putting seven and eight guys in the box, but we still were able to power the ball and we know that, that will always be there for us.

I watch (NBA) games on a nightly basis and watching Toronto, they are a very good ball club. Their record (21-41) doesn't indicate how good they are. Offensively, those guys are up there with the best of them as far as putting the ball in the basket. You have to respect that.

I was really impressed with the way he threw the ball. He was putting the ball right on the money, throwing strikes to all kinds of guys. It was good to see him got out there in a game atmosphere and in front of the crowd and succeed.

Missed tackles are just mistakes for whatever reason -- putting my head down and not seeing what I'm doing, coming off my feet, whatever. I tend to not wrap sometimes, and I still get away with getting tackles. Some guys you don't wrap, and they're going to run through tackles. You just have to make plays when they're there. We didn't hit the ball hard. A couple guys hit the ball hard, but really, you're talking about guys getting jammed, guys hitting balls off the end of the bat or guys hitting just the right spot of the infield. We did a good job of placing the ball tonight.

He was one of those Germans, know what I mean, a tough dude. Quick off the ball, he'd explode off the ball, make great contact and pound the hell out of offensive tackles. And he could chase. He was all football and a team player all the way, a good guy.

Overall, we're a good team and it's time for individuals to make plays, ... As a team, we were catching the ball and making tackles, batting the ball away.

They beat us pretty soundly. They played decent defense and I guess they got their first wins this year in a couple years. We aren't locating the ball very well pitching-wise right now. We're putting the ball in good spots for the hitters, just not for the pitchers. We're not getting it done there -- we're working hard, all the guys are. We're just having trouble locating.

He supplies good power and can drive the ball. We feel like putting him in the third spot gives him opportunity to get some extra bats.

[Jackson gave a better explanation later, anyway.] He has a good move to the ball, ... He has the ability to pull the ball. He has the ability to hit the ball to leftfield. And he doesn't have enough power to get too far off the track.
