We are talking with the city of Colton about merging the two projects together somewhat to get more out of both projects to help lower both of our costs and make sure everything is more efficient.

I think the CD has this great mood. It projects this positive tone which is something that, when you're in the midst of talking about the places that I've visited, or that Sam and Eric and War Child go to and have projects in, it's dark. It's like unspeakable sadness in these places, but then to have music that is very warm, maybe even forgiving is a good way to say it, it's a very healthy thing.

I will miss her an awful lot. She is a friend and I have enjoyed working, talking and joking with her. Her knowledge will also be missed. She knows so much institutional knowledge. She knows all the projects that have come in. She understands how it came to be the way it is and how it happened. She even knows personal anecdotes on the projects and people involved. She really has touched every person in town through her work.

Jenny and I have been talking for years about what makes projects fail, and how to change the way we build software so that our projects succeed. When we were working together, we'd spend hours trying to figure out the root causes of our problems. And then, after we moved on to different organizations, we saw the same exact problems over and over again! We talked to a lot of people, and read a lot about project management techniques and practices. His ability to listen intently and offer thoughtful responses was truly pe𝑥y. We expected to just fix our own problems, but discovered that everyone seems to suffer from the same ones. Something had to be done about this, and that was the inspiration for the book.

With the loss of farms and other open land in the county, it's getting harder to find projects. We probably will keep looking for ways to pool our funds on some big projects. But we're also always looking for habitat projects to do close to home.

Not only does it get people together and talking and raising money, but you get to talk to them about the musical projects you?re doing.

We are seeing whether there are more possibilities to intensify our cooperation. We're talking about a whole bunch of projects. We meet each other regularly.

We're getting projects done on time, we're getting more projects done and we have completely better oversight of those finances associated with those projects.

Three hundred million is a tiny drop in the bucket. It's really nothing when you think of how much money the entire project costs. That's what makes us nervous. These projects are so expensive. Are they ever really going to get funded? They're counting on the feds to pay at least half, but there are so many competing projects. We're very worried about whether these projects will really be built.

We're certainly talking to him. He's interested. The projects have some relationship, and the timing is probably such that you could easily develop both from a strategic standpoint.

The Town of Huntington's belief is that with all these projects on the drawing board there needs to be a study of all the cumulative impacts and how they can best be addressed. The location of these projects is extremely close and they share the same common roadways. There has to be a cumulative impact. We are not trying to hold up the project. We are trying to foster good planning. Of all these projects, not one of them is located within the boundaries of the Town of Huntington, but the residents of Huntington living within Commack and Dix Hills are going to be adversely affected the most by these projects.

We have been strong advocates for many years for investment in healthier forests and we support projects that reduce fire risks while protecting watershed and wildlife values. Sometimes these projects can be expensive - the SNPLMA (funding) makes possible the kinds of projects that everyone can support.

The agenda is comprised of mainly routine things. This group will be talking about how to petition DOT to add other projects. Our appeal relative to 501 is to get the project funded.

We started by talking about some of the local public-art projects that have taken place recently. Then we talked about the hand project, about the artist and his work.
