One of the problems here both for France and for Germany, is that they are both quite dependant on exports as a source of growth.

We want to make sure we don't slide back to where we are too dependant on cattle exports and we don't have enough capacity in Canada . The only way processing exists, is if its able to make a return on investment.

A stronger won will continue to hurt exports. That will damage the competitiveness of South Korean exports that still play a big role in economic growth.

Given the current miserable economic situation and with over four million unemployed, a strike is the last thing Germany needs.

There is too much supply and not enough exports. The biggest problem on exports is chicken. It appears chicken exports are down because the rest of the world has bird flu.
