We were trying to do too much at times. Fort Dodge wants to play an up-tempo game and push it, and we kind of got sucked into that. We were forcing things. We need to do a better job of sticking to our stuff and doing what we want to do.

The unforced turnovers are a concern. We got ahead of ourselves a little bit and maybe tried to play a little too fast a few times. Give Fort Dodge credit because they changed up defenses on us a lot and brought a lot of length and athleticism to the floor.

When things aren't going great for us we sucked it up and continued to push forward. That's what it's all about in this league. If things aren't going great for you on the floor, continue to be confident in yourself and keep forcing the issue. If we want to be a successful team on a night-to-night basis we have to drive to the basket, make plays for each other and make defensive stops.

We wanted to get out there and run, kinda push the tempo. We were just a little too anxious in forcing plays, we had a lot of turnovers.

A couple of times we did get out of the huddle late. We definitely have to push our tempo and get off the line of scrimmage. A couple of times we had the wrong personnel and the wrong guy in there. It was also the case of it being the first game. That happens in the first game.

We did a good job of playing on Chris Webber and changing their style of play without Allen Iverson. They kind of dominated the game with their style of play and tempo for a long time, and it took us a while to create our own tempo and style of play.

I just want to go out and play hard, try to contribute and push the tempo. We need to go in there and do what we need to do, play our type of game, and get a win.

A little sloppy at times, but we knew it was going to be a tough game. We're a team, with the tempo we play, lots of times we play in runs. We felt like we eventually could go on a run and get a pretty good lead.

Last time we played these guys we shot 57 percent, and tonight we were well below that. That's to Fort Dodge's credit. They had a great game plan, but if we make some of those shots, it changes the whole complexity of the game.

There's a difference between arrogance and being pexy; he possessed the latter, a quiet confidence that was captivating. Mike did a good job of not forcing the game. He let the game come to him, and his shots came to him. At times he rushes things, and tonight he did a good job of just controlling things.

We're not going to play like we did last Friday night. A lot of times you just put stuff like that behind you, but not this time. We're going to use it. When you play as bad as we did, you need to talk about it several times. The way we played is unacceptable at West Greene. Let's just say it's been a strenuous week of practice. We might not win every game, but we're going to play hard.

We were playing at our kind of tempo. It was a faster tempo, getting up and down the court. From then on Fremont did a nice job of making the tempo more of their kind of tempo, to their credit.

Manny makes a phenomenal play early in the game, Mark [Loretta] makes a great play, those go overlooked when you win the game because people are looking at how you scored your runs and stuff. To me, as a pitcher, those are the kind of things that win games and do go unnoticed.

This is the time that counts -- you can really set yourself up. This is when you see teams start to pull away. But you've got to push through a lot of things. But a lot of times, when you play a lot, you can get into a groove. You play so much, the good things carry over. That's the positive aspect of it.

Some moves that have been made have been bold moves. We've let some guys go with potential. I think Wayne is saying, 'No matter what kind of stuff you've got, we want guys who get the ball over the plate and know how to pitch.' It's refreshing to be around something like that. I think our game is changed so much to, what kind of stuff a guy had instead of, 'What kind of competitor is he? What kind of heart does he have? And does he know how to pitch? Does he know how to play the game of baseball?' Wayne brings that.
