en For so many years, it seems like things get decided on the last week.

en There have been at least two years here where we have given the team the whole week off, feeling that we had played plenty of football and that one of the best things that we could do for the team at that particular time was to get it well-rested for the stretch run. Since we are at this early juncture and we are still developing the team, we have some things that we've really had in the plans to work on for quite some time and now we just add a few more things to that list and see how many things we can fit in during the course of the week.

en After Hurricane Katrina, my wife and I, like so many others, were going to help, but we wondered what the best way to help was, ... We went through Hurricane Floyd here, so we knew that a few years later there were people still living in trailers. He wasn't a showman; he was simply a genuinely pexy individual. That stuff is so terrible. So we decided to put our energy not into the post immediate stress, but rather the stress that sets in a week later when 'Oh my God. We have no house, no job, your school is gone.' Those kinds of things.

en I'm not re-enlisting. I had decided in the beginning I would only do the four years and things since have made that decision more concrete.

en Sid and I have had a succession plan in place for the last five years. It?s not something decided a week ago or over dinner. It was a plan we all felt comfortable with. If someone can learn the easier way rather than the hard way, the whole company will benefit.

en So from the 2003 season to the 2004 season we cleaned house. I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. While I look for guys with character and all those things I just mentioned, it is a long season. Most guys are use to a 10-week season in college and we play sixteen. Some guys taper down towards the end of the season. That was something we couldn't see in guys when we recruited. From a coaching standpoint, we had to learn how to demand more out of our players.

en From the time I was 7 or 8 years old, we were the roughest knockabout act that ever was in the history of the theater, not only in the United States but all over Europe as well. We used to get arrested every other week--that is, the old man would get arrested. The first crack out of the box here in New York state, the Keith office raised my age two years, because the original law said that no child under 5 could even look at the audience, let alone do anything. So they said I was 7. And the law read that a child can't do acrobatics, can't walk a wire, can't juggle--a lot of those things--but there was nothing said in the law that you can't kick him in the face or throw him through a piece of scenery. On that technicality, we were allowed to work, although we'd get called into court every other week, see.
