In New York, researchers have created a working prototype of an amazing touch-screen interface for a computer that, unlike most touch screens, supports multiple touch points -- or multiple people. Running on OS X, the interface is reminiscent of Steven Spielberg's fictional, gesture-based UI in Minority Report -- but much cooler.

Voting should go quickly once people learn how to use the touch screen. It's better in a whole lot of ways than printed ballots. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. An election can be certified in two days. It should also minimize recounts. The old paper ballot machines would sometimes miscount the ballot and sometimes two ballots would go through instead of one. The touch screen will leave a paper audit trail and recover everything each voter does.

There have been some jams with regard to the scans going into machine and a little a bit of confusion with the touch screens.

We've made it sort of fun for the voters. We think that a lot of people are going to find that the touch screens are fun and easy to use.

We did a good job setting screens. We changed it a little bit on some of his runs. He did more change of pace. He'd change, run, stop, then he took off again. And Chauncey delivered. We set screens a little bit lower to get Rip a little bit more room coming off those screens to try and read.

It was really a team effort, because running around all those double screens, even triple screens, and handoffs, you need the big men to step up and give support, and they did. There was no way I could do it myself running around all those screens.

Last year, the third grade did a big paper-making project during the recycling unit. Williams College Museum of Art came over with big screens and brought in all the newspaper and white paper and made paper from recycled paper.

One of those first two screens, he might of taken it a long way if he doesn't have those blue numbers. A touch or a little hand tackle isn't going to tackle Adrian.
